Sr Tooling Design Engineer

Description:
*Operations Tooling & Equipment Design inclusive of:
-Jigs - Welding & Assembly
-Fixtures - Welding & Assembly
-Templates
-Robotics and Automation Design and/or Integration
-Other tooling as required for test and assembly operations
*Prepares tooling and equipment design in consideration with the following variables and information:
-Work Cells
-Staging areas
-Tact time requirements
-Process flow
-Ergonomics
-Resource allocations
*Supports maintenance of the Manufacturing Engineering change data base.
*Works closely with manufacturing, operations and design engineering team members in an effort to ensure DFM&A requirements are clearly identified and addressed.
*Integration of tooling and equipment into workflow layouts.
*Develop proposals for new tooling work as assigned.
*Keeps management informed on all matters of significance which impacts or has potential to impact the Manufacturing/departmental responsibility.

Requirements:
*BS degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or other related Engineering discipline.
*Mechanical components and systems design experience with some tooling design experience
*5 plus years of Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering Experience.
*Demonstrated proficiency in SolidWorks or similar design software.
*Demonstrated proficiency in MSOffice including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
*Demonstrated willingness to learn new/other Manufacturing Engineering tasks and software as required.
*Proven proficiency with the application and interpretation of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) per the current ASME standards.
*Proven experience in the use of and application of Tolerance Stack Analysis Tools for parts and assemblies including the tolerance requirements for tooling and process equipment.
*Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement and participation in the process.
*FEA using SolidWorks Simulation Tools, Ansys or other comparable software is a plus.
