Description:
A CNC Programmer job in Los Alamitos, CA is currently available through Belcan. In this role, you will be responsible for the managing, programming and maintenance of computer numeric controlled (CNC) equipment for prototype (first run) and production of composite parts within the facility. To be considered for this role, you will have a High School Diploma, or equivalent, plus 5-7 years of relevant experience.

CNC Programmer Job duties:

* Review electronic or written blueprints or specifications for a job
* Review and obtain proper tooling
* Program extremely close tolerance parts
* CNC program in Mastercam (2020) 3, 4, and 5 axis geometry, proving out programs prior to machining, machining of parts and tools through CNC machining on 3-axis vertical mills, Large Capacity 5-axis CNC Router, 2 axis lathe and manual machining

Description:
A Composite Design Engineer role located in Salt Lake City, Utah is currently available through Belcan. The Composite Design Engineer will design and validate aerospace structures, assemblies, and mechanical systems, primarily using advanced composite materials, metallics and engineered plastics. You will work cooperatively with operations to optimize the design for quality, cost, and throughput, and communicate the design and validation through CAD models, drawings, test plans, test reports and maintenance manuals.

Composite Design Engineer job duties:

* Produces innovative and intelligent designs of structures, assemblies and mechanical systems
using design specifications or department/customer guidelines and requirements. Typical
structures will be designed from advanced composite materials, engineered plastics, machined,
and welded metals.
* Specify materials, process, and parts in consideration of product certification.
* Works cooperatively with operations, manufacturing engineering, tooling engineering and
suppliers to optimize ease of manufacturing, cost, weight, and quality.
* Creates accurate 3D models/drawings and engineering data required to communicate designs to
manufacturing, suppliers and the customer.
* Creates and validates the engineering bill of material (EBOM) and maintains the design data in a
PDM system.
* Prepares engineering change notices to support manufacturing, customers, and certification.
* Recommends and plans testing to validate engineering results.
* Works with supply chain for availability, cost, and lead times for purchased parts.
* Actively participates in initial production to prevent and/or solve any engineering issues.
* Applies theoretical knowledge and engineering techniques to solve complex engineering
problems. Analyze root cause and recommend corrective actions.
* Prepares technical content for maintenance manuals and recommended spares provisioning for
airline customers.
* Point of contact for customer technical issues.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

* BS/BA in Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Equivalent (AE/CE/IE)
* Basic technical skills, theories and concepts related to the design and development of high-
performance composites structures and other mechanical systems.
* Application of CAD tools to design of composites. CATIA Composites Design (CPD) preferred.
(SOLIDWORKS and 2D AutoCAD a plus).
* Prefer Enovia LCA and Wind-chill PDM experience.

composite processes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

* Associate and/or Bachelor degree in Business Administration is required or equivalent
combination of education, training, and experience
* Minimum of 5 - 8 years' experience performing duties and responsibilities in an
aerospace/defense/ government contracting environment
* Experienced in federal acquisition process, government contracting principles and regulations
(e.g., FAR, DFARS, contract-specific flow-downs, etc.) required
* Experienced in and knowledgeable of contractual terms and conditions and high-risk terms

The Liaison Engineer responsibilities will widen to include typical Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and project coordinator duties, similar to a project manager. Sr. Stress Analysis Engineer

Responsibilities involve performing stress analysis and related activities for new and derivative designs of
Part 23 aircraft structures, along with supporting other Certification related activities. This includes
review of Engineering drawings, preparing load calculations and writing stress reports in collaboration
with the Structural Engineering group and Structural Unit Members providing approvals.

• Static strength assessment and fatigue life assessment using both manual (textbook theory) analysis and finite and/or boundary element analysis modeling for both new designs and design changes.
• Perform complex finite element analysis and modeling (aircraft / major assembly level and detailed component level).
• Create analyses and/or tests and prepare test plans and final substantiation reports using modern tools.
• Review drawings, specifications, service bulletins, reports, etc. for compliance with applicable regulations.
• Prepare FAA required aircraft type certification reports showing compliance with the proper FAA or Foreign regulations on all structural components by either analysis or test.
• Document compliance with the applicable regulations covering the structural strength, crash protection, interiors item retention, basic loads, weight balance, stress analysis, static test, dynamic test, fatigue analysis/assessment, and evaluation of the design to substantiate aircraft structure.
• Contribute to developing plans for engineering substantiation projects.
• Determine and develop approaches to solutions within schedule and cost objectives.
• Acts as liaison with representatives outside of the assigned group/area.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Education and Experience:
• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering; a minimum of 5 years in structural analyses, test and design or equivalent education and experience is desired.
• Detailed knowledge of aircraft with respect to structure, materials and processes specifications, and certification requirements is essential.
• Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) 21 and 23, related Joint Aviation Requirement (JAR), and Civil Aviation Authority (CAR) 3 required.
• Familiarity with FORTRAN, Visual Basic, C++ computer programming; and experience in Finite Element analysis and modeling and MRBs preferred

* Ability to administer baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measures.
* Exposure to establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM).
