Utility Estimator

Description:
Ability to work independently and as a team leader including the ability to handle conflicting priorities in a multitask environment. Demonstrated strong independent judgment skills. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and time management skills.

Top 3 Skills Required: High voltage electrical experience, ability to read and analyze blueprints & project diagrams, and strong communication skills.

Must Have: Background in either high voltage electrical work, or in civil and construction work
Year of experience required: 5-10 years

Education requirements/Specific Degree Needed:
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field and 4-7 years or related experience, OR High School Diploma and 6-10 years of relevant project management or related experience

Technical/Software
Any experience with estimating software such as InEight Estimate, WinEst, Sage Timberline, or other estimating software.

Deal Breaker: Must be local candidate in order to support Tuesday - Thursday mandatory in office days.

Specific project/projects contractor would be working on: Distribution, Transmission, and Substation construction projects

Support and contribute to the development of Phase 1, 2, and 3 project cost estimates in WBS format with all required assumptions that support development of current and LRP budgets. Prepare standard WBS estimates and assumptions with documentation of confidence factors ranging from study to construction phases of project.
Conduct modeling, forecasting, trending, variance analysis, and other estimate-related financial and implementation analysis.
Track, maintain, analyze and provide current estimating information on scorecard or key performance indicators (KPIs).
Prepare, update and maintain standard material and labor unit costs to support estimate creation and database updates.
Update estimates for each phase approval with current documentation and meeting information. Conduct estimate peer reviews prior to estimate issuance.
Perform engineering drawing reviews, general analysis and prepare reports to support business operations. Work with Project Managers to ensure that estimates are properly understood
