Senior Mechanical Engineer (5 - 7+ yrs exp)

Description:
This Senior Mechanical engineering position offers an exciting opportunity to grow technically and broaden capabilities while proudly contributing to unique state of the art solutions that truly make a difference. Domestic travel 10%-25%.

Detailed Skill Requirements:
• Working Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (Patran/NASTRAN)
• Experience with CAD Solid Modeling (CREO/PDM)
• Applied experience with hands on engineering applications
• Experience with laboratory work protocols and standard tools/equipment
• Knowledge of component integration and design for manufacturability
• Knowledge of electro/optical systems and sub components
• Basic mechanical analysis and problem-solving skills
• Ability to support factory operations to perform root cause assessments and implement solutions for production issues
• Ability to draft technical reports and procedures
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, Excel and Power Point
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to interact well with other team members across various disciplines, including electrical engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and program management
• Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment

Basic Requirements:
• US Citizenship
• This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in appropriate disciple and 5 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree in the appropriate disciple and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree 9 years of relevant experience is required.

Preferred Skills:
• Understanding of dynamic systems and modal analysis
• Working Knowledge of Matlab / Simulink
• Working knowledge of engineering drawing practices
• Familiarity with relevant military specifications and commercial design standards
• Experience leading other junior engineers
