Performs a wide range of CAD design assignments in support of the mechanical engineering organization including the creation of models and/or layout drawings from sketches, notes provided by engineering. General Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer position is responsible for the efficient build of a high quality aircraft which includes but not limited to: configuration control, creation of planning, tooling (manufacturing aides), work sequencing and designing efficient build methods. Successful candidate must have a strong mechanical background with sheet metal (Structures), and aircraft production experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Supports work specific to detail parts manufacturing and assembly operations within a manufacturing environment.
2. Develops documentation and procedures to ensure compliance specific to customer, and regulatory production requirements and specifications.
3. Develops solutions for production problems relating to materials, manufacturing processes and/or the right tooling.

o Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests)
o Follows documented processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities
o Supports the development of statements of work
o Assists in the technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection
o Analyzes functional and physical input used in the development of integrated design and system architecture
o Works under general supervision

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):
o Bachelors of Science degree or higher
o College coursework and/or work experience with computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., computer aided design / computer aided manufacturing (CAD / CAM) software)
o MS Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):
o Mentor Graphics Capital (MGC) or Enovia experience
o CATIA V5 experience
o Experience in wire harness design, wire harness installation or equipment installation
o College coursework and/or work experience with design, production, and build processes is a PLUS
o Communicator, working in teams

Typical Education / Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically < 2 years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
