Piping Designer

Description:
Responsibilities:
• Essential duties include 3D modeling of piping and equipment in a 3D model environment, preparation of drawings/documents for General Arrangements and piping isometrics drawings.
• Assist with coordination of 3D model activities, i.e. input, interference reconciliation, etc. with other physical related disciplines.
• Assists with plans and schedules and prepare/maintain design procedures, standards to provide quality design documents.
• Interface with stress and pipe support engineers, construction, and suppliers during the preparation of piping designs for the purpose of model/space control, etc.
• Perform coordination review of specifications and other documents prepared by others.
• Candidate should possess an advanced knowledge of piping codes such as ASME B31.3 or B31.1.

Qualifications and Skills

Basic Qualifications:
• Level 1 - AA/AS/Cert degree with 3 years of related design experience; or 7 years related design experience.
• Level 2 - AA/AS/Cert degree with 5 years of related design experience; or 9 years related design experience.
• Hands-on use of Bentley Microstation 2D.
• Hands-on experience using a 3D piping design platforms and isometric extraction.
• Knowledge of ASME B31.1 and/or B31.3 piping codes.
• Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.


Additional Qualifications:
• Hands-on use of Bentley 3D modeling applications in piping design and area layout.
• Previous DOD or DOE project experience.
