Airframe Stress Engineer – Fort Worth, TX

Job Summary:

Cyient is seeking an Airframe Stress Engineer for a full time, direct hire opportunity based in Fort Worth, TX. This position includes benefits and a relocation bonus if need be. Qualified candidates must have 5+ years of Aerospace Stress Engineering experience, 3000+ hours of experience with CATIA and experience with ANSYS, and NASTRAN / PATRAN.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct complex stress analysis for metallic / composite components of tiltrotor rotor and airframe structures and prepare reports
• Develop analysis packages and complete static stress reports for review and release in ENOVIA.
• Performs diverse and complex product development, modification, and evaluation of components, by applying engineering principles and developing new or unique stress analysis tools/ methods as required.
• Applies scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure the outcome and consequence of design, in terms of stress, strength, life, and alternatives.
• Utilizes and interprets predictive models to simulate and verify design concepts. Perform static analysis using industry standard calculations methods (i.e. Bruhn, Roark, Flabel, and O.E.M. structures manuals)
• Investigates design factors such as function, materials, performance, interchangeability, weight and stress & strength requirements.
• Conduct Analysis for damage limits and tolerances for various rotor and airframe structural components.
• Contributes to the completion milestones associated with specific projects (completion of stress analysis and reporting of results).
• Methods include the use of ANSYS, NASTRAN / PATRAN and a balance of classical hand calculations to analyze high performance rotor and airframe structures.

Skills:

• High level of proficiency with ANSYS, and NASTRAN / PATRAN is a requirement
• Experience in Aerospace stress analysis is required
• Experience with CATIA is required
• Must have experience in using MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Good oral and written communication skills

Education: BS/MS in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, Math or related science degree required
Years of Experience: Aircraft – Structural/rotor stress analysis Preferred (5+ years required)
