Naval Systems Engineer

Description:
• We’re looking for someone to join the unmanned surface vessel team who has knowledge of naval architecture and engineering, which includes an understanding of the design and operation of shipboard systems. Ideally, the candidate will be able to provide feedback across multiple programs, and may be able to consult on things like craft design.. .controls… automation.. etc. They will help support the full lifecycle of engineering programs.
• Some key resume words the managers will be looking for: navy, naval design, marine design, naval architecture, naval control systems, autopilot, automation
• This position is for an individual contributor (won’t be managing people below him/her) that can offer their expertise to help consult on things like craft design/controls/automation within our various programs. Ideally looking for a Systems Engineer that understands…
o How to control boat/crafts
o The ‘naval architecture’ side (i.e. boat engines… propeller design… how to select the proper engine/propeller set based on the craft)
• Must have 5 or more years of experience
• Willing to travel up to 25% of the time for on the water performance testing (within the US)
• Must have a minimum of a Bachelors degree (masters degree preferred)  Targeting degrees in: Mechanical, Electrical, Software, or Systems Engineering, Marine or Naval Engineering
• Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain security clearance (active clearance preferred)
