Location: Tukwila, WA

Description:
Client is searching for a P-8 Retrofit Technical Specialist that will place a heavy emphasis on technical research, creative problem-solving, resource management, and frequent interactions with customers, internal stakeholders, and subject matter experts in order to provide the best possible holistic support solutions for our customers. Enthusiasm, a strong collaborative drive, working knowledge of aviation maintenance practices, a firm grasp of project management principles, and independent decision-making skills are critical to success.
The P-8 is a 737 derivative platform owned and operated by government entities. Prior experience in fleet support or project management for the P-8, P-3, other US government aircraft platforms, or client commercial derivative platforms is highly preferred. Prior technical leadership experience is desirable.

Position Responsibilities:
- Creates technical documents according to delivery schedule in coordination with overall modification. Authors modification instructions (Technical Directives, Installation Data Packages, Service Bulletins, etc.)to include parts/materials/consumable listings and disposition requirements for removed assemblies
- Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
- Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
- Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
- Reviews program and engineering change proposals and assesses modification/retrofit impacts, develops bases of estimates, coordinates closely with proposal management team to finalize proposals for new modification/retrofit projects
- Coordinates closely with customer counterparts on daily execution and development activities, milestones, and strategies
- Reviews engineering drawings data packages for quality and applicability, determines configuration requirements and creates an installable modification package
- Identifies and defines requirements for retrofit kit definition, development and delivery
- Coordinates and obtains regulatory agency retrofit kit approval
- Integrates incorporation of any findings from customer validation and verification activities
- Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization
- Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects.
- Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
Education / Experience:
- Typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Minimum of 3 years' experience authoring Service Bulletins, Technical Directives, or Time Compliance Technical Orders
- Prior experience in aviation mod/retrofit activities

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience with US Navy Technical Directives, USAF TCTO, and Service Bulletins
- Prior experience working with P-8 or a comparable commercial derivative aircraft platform in support of US or international government entities
- Prior experience with commercial derivatives, client Commercial Aircraft products or military platforms
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Project, etc
