Lead Structural Designer

Description:
You will lead and energize a group of engineers to develop and certify an aircraft structure from conceptual design through entry into service. You will guide structures through all the process gates and ensure the design and schedule is met to produce the highest quality and efficiency possible for all current and future aircraft programs.

Your Key Responsibilities:
• Generate and track schedules based on project milestones from preliminary design through entry into service.
• Evaluate progress and actions based on KPI’s including Earned Value, Schedule Performance and Cost Performance.
• Conduct design reviews with the team to understand status and configurations and provide guidance and critical feedback to the team to resolve issues.
• Propose and conduct configuration trade studies to reduce cost and/or weight.
• Conduct status meetings to ensure team is aligned on company initiatives and support program technical reviews with Senior Leadership.
• Hire, coach, and mentor a team of talented engineers. Create and implement talent development plans with structures team members.

Who You Are:
You have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering along with 10+ years of experience in primary and secondary structure design, composite primary structure and/or FAA DER preferred. Your experience has led to an understanding of load paths, materials and hardware selection as well as manufacturing process capabilities. You are a highly effective communicator and agile problem solver who is able to quickly devise strategies.
