Job Summary:

Position Summary




The regional Senior Electrical Engineer* will assist with the development and implementation of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) projects, energy reduction, safety and electrical distribution and control within company's manufacturing facilities across the United States (US) and Canada. Through the application of engineering fundamentals and advanced design tools, this position will ensure that electrical systems are safe, efficient, capable, properly maintained and tested. This position will provide innovation and leadership in the implementation and support of focused improvement, capital projects and strategic initiatives related to electrical, automation & control and power distribution / electrical systems. The Senior Electrical Engineer* will be accountable for the execution of electrical replacement/upgrade/maintenance and energy management projects, supporting yield/availability improvements and training/mentoring of staff for multiple sites within North America. This position will also assist management to develop manufacturing business plans and determine new or innovative technologies to enhance our current systems.



Essential Functions

  • Reports directly to the Corporate Automation Group Manager and is a member of the Central Engineering Automation team.

  • Responsible for planning, evaluating, organizing and implementing all aspects of electrical system design including medium and low voltage power distribution, motor control, lighting, instrumentation, P&IDs and instrument selection.

  • Manages electrical projects, oversees and organizes all aspects of projects including scope, budget and schedule. Technically leads and/or executes engineering projects, including development of key suppliers.

  • Generates single line diagrams, riser diagrams, layouts, cable and conduit schedules, routing, distribution and motor control schemes, as well as I/O lists, inter-connection diagrams for power, control systems, lighting and grounding systems. Performs calculations for sizing of equipment, feeders, etc.

  • Gathers electrical data and related documents to create engineering studies, project proposals and detailed project cost estimates.

  • Travels to various sites to perform on-site electrical system assessments to document existing system configuration, equipment ratings, conductor lengths / ampacities, and overcurrent protective device information/settings. Identifies and develops corrective actions / project plans for deficiencies and electrical code violations.

  • Performs and/or evaluates power system studies including arc flash studies, short circuit coordination studies, and fault current studies. Performs arc flash audits and gap analysis, creates summary reports, and communicates findings to Plant and Automation Group Manager.

  • Serves as SME (Subject Matter Expert) and trainer to internal personnel on arc flash safety, assessments, audits, calculations and reduction methodologies.

  • Responsible for managing equipment and labor costs within the approved budget.

  • Planning and scheduling of projects and preparing capital expenditures.

  • Interacts with managers and supervisors at plant and corporate personnel to secure appropriate resources to plan and implement electrical projects.

  • Develops and maintains relationships with key suppliers for certain instrumentation, automation and electrical control systems.

  • Manages work flow and electrical related projects and provides weekly status reports to corporate and plant management.

  • Provides technical expertise, support and enhancement of electrical systems and implements required updates to avoid technical obsolescence.

  • Ensures company's standards of safety, quality and reliability are built into power distribution and control systems.

  • Assists plant maintenance teams with any difficult troubleshooting issues.

  • Analyzes operating problems, develops solutions and leads the implementation of corrective actions.

  • Develops and maintains standard operating procedures and work instructions.

  • Ensures full documentation of all projects and systems to WCM / Early Equipment Management (EEM) standards.

  • Champions the installation and maintenance/upkeep of electrical metering systems for energy management and reporting. Provides energy/cost saving calculations and support for energy reduction projects.

  • Creates and provides training for other electrical/automation engineers, operators and maintenance personnel.

  • Assures good housekeeping practices following 5S systems, enforces plant rules and safety regulations, and supports company's Policy Deployment (PoDe) and WCM initiatives.

  • Continuously evaluates workplace for safety concerns and ensures behavioral safety initiatives are performed to goal levels.


Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required


  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college.

  • Registered professional engineer must be able to obtain registration in AR, IA, KY, NC, NV, WA, WV, WY within 18 months if not presently registered.

  • Five (5) years of applied professional experience in electrical engineering and power distribution (up to 4160VAC.)

  • Thorough knowledge of National Electrical Code (NFPA-70), Canadian Electrical Code (CSA C22.1), Arc-Flash (NFPA-70E) code requirements and OSHA requirements in relation to arc flash, electrical distribution and safe working practices.

  • Working knowledge of NETA, NFPA, NEC, IEEE, and ANSI standards applicable to power systems electrical testing.

  • Flexible, open-minded team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

MAINTENANCE-Technician 13.01

Dismantles, moves, assembles, installs, and repairs industrial machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions. Dismantles equipment and machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools; moves machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks; assembles and installs equipment such as conveyors and tram rails using hand and power tools; constructs foundations; aligns machines; performs scheduled inspection and maintenance.

Sets up and operates machine tools and fabrication machinery to rework or make new parts. Combined discipline in both Mechanical and Electrical skills sets is preferred, but core skills in either/or will also be strongly considered.

Duties:
1.      Assist higher grade employees in the completion of work or complete work under the direction of a higher grade employee in same job classification, or work plans.
2.      Perform root/cause analysis in support of reliability processes, and collaborate with vendors, engineering, team leader, customer, other crafts and management to solve equipment problems and develop corrective action.
3.      Enter and retrieve data from the CMMS system, and order parts required to accomplish the tasks, (except as relates to inventory, store, record, issue and any other duties related to material support technician.)
4.      Rework and maintain tools of all types and materials. Perform routine minor machine maintenance as part of their daily work duties (e.g., replacing machine filters, changing standard light bulbs on machines and equipment, maintaining lubrication/coolant levels, etc. as related to basic Total Preventative Maintenance duties).
5.      Train other employees in same job classification as requested or required.

Job Description / Responsibilities:

The Mechanical HVAC Engineer will produce moderately-complex technical designs and some analysis mechanical to new and existing facility related systems in support of ULA Atlas V, Delta IV and future Vulcan Launch Operations at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Florida. The successful candidate, as part of ULA’s Engineering and Infrastructure Team, shall be required to produce accurate and detailed design drawings as well as generate validating system analysis calculations. He/she will gather information, perform field walk-downs, and create or revise electronic CAD files. Projects typically involve implementations being performed by external Contractors, in accordance with construction documents.

The successful candidate should have at least 15 years of relevant experience in designing, building, modifying, testing and maintaining commercial and industrial HVAC systems. Experience with chilled water and DX systems, ventilation and air distribution required. Engineer shall perform engineering thermodynamic, heat transfer and fluid/gas dynamic calculations. Apply knowledge of regulatory and certifying agency requirements to ensure product and/or service is in compliance. Apply knowledge of functional testing requirements to ensure product and/or service meets or exceeds customer expectations. Project support will also include generation of Statement of Work, Contractor contract documents for schedule integration, fabrication and installation phases. The successful candidate will be required to coordinate multiple construction activities and project schedules around launch activities. The successful candidate should be self-motivated and able to work productively without constant direct supervision. He/she will be given latitude to establish priorities, determine technical objectives and define the most efficient approaches to completing assignments. Some outside work climbing stairs and accessing ladders will be required. He/she may need to work at heights on launch structures and facility catwalks. The successful candidate shall be willing to support second/third shifts and weekends as required.

Skills:
This position requires expert knowledge of mechanical design, analysis and drafting practices and a sound practical knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and industry standards. At least 10 years of recent Autodesk AutoCAD experience. Other 3D modeling and design experience in Autodesk Revit or other Building Information Modeling (BIM) software is highly preferred.

Educational and Professional Qualifications:

c. Ensure all users have the requisite security clearances, authorization, need-to-know, and are aware of their security responsibilities before granting access to the IS;

d. Report all security-related incidents to the ISSM;

e. Conduct periodic reviews of ISs to ensure compliance with the security authorization package;

f. Serve as member of the CCB, if designated by the ISSM;

g. Coordinate any changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware of a system with the ISSM prior to the change;

h. Formally notify the ISSM when changes occur that might affect system authorization;

i. Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored and functioning correctly;

j. Ensure all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals;

k. Ensure audit records are collected and reviewed; and

l. ISSO shall be adequately trained and possesses technical competence commensurate with the complexity of the ISs.

Job Description / Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Engineer will produce moderately-complex technical designs and some analysis mechanical / structural modifications to new and existing facility related systems in support of ULA Atlas V, Delta IV and future Vulcan Launch Operations at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Florida. Basic Function
An Instrument Project Engineer (IE) is responsible for the design and implementation of process instrumentation from initial conception through field installation. They are responsible for designs that provide the most reliable and cost-effective instrument systems. An IE:

Job Purpose
Maintain synchronization of the supply chain between various organizations, customers, and suppliers by managing product requirements, inventory systems, and production flow of work in process. Principal Accountabilities

Responsible for updating and maintained the build plans (Auto Planner) for all areas to ensure the right requirements are flowed through MRP for detail parts and raw materials.
Define problem resolutions and process improvements.
Incorporate planning decisions to reduce material and product variability.
Serve on multifunctional teams to define quality, delivery and performance standards.
Perform all duties in compliance with company policies and procedures.


Qualifications
Education
B.S. degree in engineering or related discipline preferred and/or a combination of eleven to fourteen years of education and relevant experience in lieu of degree. Masters degree in engineering, engineering management, industrial management or business preferred.
Experience and Qualifications
