Technical Writer - Manual Authoring ITEM (260)

Description:
*This is a full time, 1 year contract located in Grand Prairie TX*



We are seeking a technical writer who will be creating maintenance procedure manual for a military rocket launcher.



Duties will include heavy technical writing of exact military procedures (physical and online handbooks) for maintaining equipment to Military Standards using advanced technical manual creation tools. Candidates should be familiar with reviewing equipment in the field support and maintenance requirements, including calibration, maintainability and sustainability for all kinds of conditions and locations.



Required:
*5 years’ experience in writing technical manuals for military applications.
*Ability to gain a Secret Clearance upon starting, which requires US Citizenship.
*Experience with IETM, and MIL-STD-40051, MIL-STD-2361, MIL-PRF-63002 for Modification Work Orders, and MIL-PRF-63033
*Experience using 4 or more of the following: ArborText, UltraEdit, ISODraw, AutoTrol, EPIC Editor, 3D Studio Max, HTML XML, SGML
*Familiar with SLICWave Logistics Management Information System tool, US Army Two Level Maintenance Concept (AR 750-1) and Supportability Analysis (AR 700-127) maintenance and maintainability demonstration test events
*Engineering degree or 10 years’ experience in technical writing



Pluses:
*Experience with the HIMARS program or similar rocket launching systems (MLRS).
*Knowledge of Computer Based Training, and S1000D standard Working knowledge of Content Management Systems, WindChill, S1000D Common Source Database, and Adobe Professional Proficiency using IADS, EMS NG, Authoring and Display System software
*Experience as Training Instructor and/or Certified Military Training Instructor
*Familiar with Pro-E or other 3D designing software
*Knowledge of GEIA-STD-0007
*Any background in Reliability/Maintainability/Safety/Human Factors Engineering
