Liaison MRB Engineer / Product Review Engineer III - (AL)

Description:
• Develops dispositions for previously fielded, unserviceable items utilizing Interactive Electronica Technical Manuals (IETM), Depot Maintenance Work Repairs (DMWRs), engineering drawings and/or process specifications.
• Applies broad knowledge of Boeing design and/or engineering principles.
• Develops and implements product/process improvements.
• Communicates engineering serviceability issues with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participating in design reviews.
• Uses innovative approaches and unique applications to address complex unserviceable conditions and to detect deviations.
• Utilizes basic static strength analysis to design interim and/or structural repairs.
• Analyzes reported problems for potential safety issues; recommends and manages complex resolution.
• Leads development of interim and final dispositions.
• Represents the engineering community in the build through post production environment.
• Ensures supplier and build partner compliance with Boeing standards.
• Develops customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Supports supplier activities for on-site disabled product repair teams.
• Ensures supplier and build partner compliance with Boeing standards.


This position requires direct engineering support at an off-site supplier for the depopulation efforts which remove previously fielded (used) major assemblies, sub-assemblies, and detail components from the Apache rotorcraft. They are inspected and dispositioned with the intent of repairing/restoring to a serviceable condition; these items are then modified by the primary integrator (Boeing-Mesa), then re-installed on the aircraft. The components vary in terms of the state of serviceability, and component type; they consist of both primary and secondary, metallic and composite bonded structures, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, flight safety related components, and armament sub-systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous Material Review Board (MRB) experience preferred.
• Universal Product Review (UPR) preferred
• Previous experience with Depot Maintenance Work Requirement (DMWR) and/or Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) highly desired.
• Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate with other engineers (both face-to-face, and via remote correspondence) and factory-floor mechanics.
• Develop and implement product/process improvements.
• Develop customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.

Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification, or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Mechanical, Aerospace / Aeronautical, Civil, or Electrical engineering. ABET is preferred.
