Description:
Candidate will work within the thermodynamics team on LM Aero programs. The thermodynamics team executes engineering tasks across all LM Aero lines of business. Candidate will be responsible for providing technical analysis for complex problems involving heat transfer and thermodynamics, mentoring junior team members in thermal analysis and thermodynamics tools and best practices, implementing standard work practices, and tailoring processes to program needs.

Experience in thermal structural modelling and analysis of complex structures required. Strong experience with common thermal analysis tool sets with ability to develop tools for analysis automation and optimization are desired. Experience with Matlab/Simulink, high-level programming language(s) (C, C++, Fortran, Python, etc.), and advanced engineering analysis and CAD packages is highly desirable.

Must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, communication and presentation, time management, and interpersonal skills able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Description:
A Composite Design Engineer role located in Salt Lake City, Utah is currently available through Belcan. The Composite Design Engineer will design and validate aerospace structures, assemblies, and mechanical systems, primarily using advanced composite materials, metallics and engineered plastics. You will work cooperatively with operations to optimize the design for quality, cost, and throughput, and communicate the design and validation through CAD models, drawings, test plans, test reports and maintenance manuals.

Composite Design Engineer job duties:

* Produces innovative and intelligent designs of structures, assemblies and mechanical systems
using design specifications or department/customer guidelines and requirements. Typical
structures will be designed from advanced composite materials, engineered plastics, machined,
and welded metals.
* Specify materials, process, and parts in consideration of product certification.
* Works cooperatively with operations, manufacturing engineering, tooling engineering and
suppliers to optimize ease of manufacturing, cost, weight, and quality.
* Creates accurate 3D models/drawings and engineering data required to communicate designs to
manufacturing, suppliers and the customer.
* Creates and validates the engineering bill of material (EBOM) and maintains the design data in a
PDM system.
* Prepares engineering change notices to support manufacturing, customers, and certification.
* Recommends and plans testing to validate engineering results.

• Develop new and revise existing operational test procedures and maintenance documentation associated with the launch vehicle ECS and facility HVAC systems to meet customer requirements.

We are looking for someone who has experience in designing custom readout integrated circuits (ROICs) in state of the art image sensors. As ROIC Designer, you will help specify and design analog and digital integrated circuit designs for readout ICs.

Essential Functions:

The ROIC Designer will serve as technical expert and point of contact representing ROIC expertise across multiple integrated program teams. In this capacity, responsibilities will include capturing requirements in formal documentation, interfacing with sub-contract design vendors, and contributing to design reviews. We are currently seeking a motivated and tenacious engineer who will support Assembly Integration and Test operations as a representative of spacecraft design.

Liaison engineer team members are responsible as the primary interface for manufacturing floor activity for Cargo Module fabrication on the CRS2 program. Liaison’s goal is to ensure design requirements are met between production, planning, and supply chain, while maintaining schedule. Through a detailed understanding of the build processes, design requirements and extensive collaboration with the internal teams designing and managing installations, this team is a key stakeholder to ensure that the overall build of CM design achieves all objectives.

Primary Responsibilities Include:
*Nonconformance (MRB)
*Assess, disposition, analyze, justify, determine cause and relay improvements for build discrepancies, errors and other nonconformance's.
*Provide guidance on when NC’s are appropriate vs other engineering change options, enforce process standards, and provide streamlined support to quickly address and close.
*Understand, prioritize, communicate and execute nonconformance against program schedule.

Engineering Change:
*Develop and utilize knowledge of various engineering change options, determine and execute the appropriate change option that creates the shortest path and meets engineering requirements for each unique problem.
*Document, prioritize, communicate, and track required engineering changes fed back to the spacecraft design organization for resolution.
*Work closely with manufacturing, quality, planning, and procurement teams to address changes and shepherd them through fruition on the production floor.
*Contribute to innovative, time saving, and cost-effective improvements to help streamline engineering change and response times.

Drawings, Processes and Technical Specifications:
*Provide guidance to technicians, engineers, and quality assurance engineers related to drawing and spacecraft requirements by overseeing installations; providing training, and information briefs on key topics.
*Support the development and maintenance of program specific technical specifications, and follow through on execution of these specifications to drive efficiency.
*Contribute to development and execution of standard repairs, analysis methods, and acceptable defects to streamline defects processing through MRB.

Must-haves:

General Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer position is responsible for the efficient build of a high quality aircraft which includes but not limited to: configuration control, creation of planning, tooling (manufacturing aides), work sequencing and designing efficient build methods. Description:
Metrology Specialist with experience in setup, build, and inspection of large tools and assembly structures. This role is for a hands-on person with great versatility with regard to building and assembling large precision structures. The first task of this role will be to execute the installation and setup of new production fixtures, tooling, and equipment in a new production facility. The specialist in this position will support the production tooling and equipment design and installation in order to create an efficient, organized, and lean factory. Description:
Evaluates program and project requirements, develops complex equipment and tooling concepts and designs solutions for the Production System.
