Description:
Candidate will work within the thermodynamics team on LM Aero programs. The thermodynamics team executes engineering tasks across all LM Aero lines of business. Strong experience with common thermal analysis tool sets with ability to develop tools for analysis automation and optimization are desired. Experience with Matlab/Simulink, high-level programming language(s) (C, C++, Fortran, Python, etc.), and advanced engineering analysis and CAD packages is highly desirable.

    General Summary:

    Manufacturing Engineer Sr (Laser Tracker Toolmaker) (Contract)

Join us! As a Laser tracker Toolmaker, you will be responsible for leading the production of tools and specialized parts and devices used in the production of spaceflight hardware at. Support with be provided to cover a very wide range of products from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll consult with program management, design engineers, quality, and production teams in order to develop the most efficient and cost effective means of producing our products at the highest level of quality possible. The work requires practical skill and knowledge as a Toolmaker to analyze specifications, lay out stock, set up and operate machine tools, and fit and assemble parts to make and repair tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges and hand tools. The work may require interpreting specifications, blueprints, manufacturers' manuals, sketches or similar documents. The candidate must have the ability to plan the sequence of operation and materials required according to knowledge of computer technology, such as computer aided design, CAD, or computer aided manufacturing, CAM, to design and create instructions for the manufacture tools.
