Chief Electrical Engineer - Lead

Description:
We need a talented electrical engineering lead with a demonstrated track record in designing complex electrical systems on safety critical vehicles. This lead will work closely with mechanical, software, and other cross-functional leads to oversee the electrical architecture of an all-electric VTOL aircraft, including but not limited to high-voltage powertrain systems, low-voltage electronics, and high-speed data transmission. Directing teams to optimize designs for reliability, weight, efficiency, and certification will be a focus.

Responsibilities
· Oversee the design, development and execution of the aircraft’s electrical systems.
· Own the requirements for the aircraft’s electrical architecture.
· Collaborate with various company departments to ensure equipment and low-level designs meet all system and aircraft-level requirements
· Lead, train and mentor the electrical engineering team.Required
· Experience bringing electrical hardware involving high-speed and high-voltage design from concept to production.
· Strong EE fundamentals, including familiarity with high-voltage power conversion and distribution, motor control, signal conditioning and conversion, discrete semiconductor design, and low-voltage power distribution.
· Hands-on experience with building and debugging electrical hardware.
· 10+ years of related technical lead experience.Preferred
· Experience leading a team of engineers to bring a piece of electrical hardware from concept through the design assurance and certification process (DAL, ASIL, SIL).
· Understanding of RTCA DO-160 and practical design guidelines for meeting required environmental qualification levels for airborne electrical hardware.
