Aerospace Engineer - Air Systems

Description:
We are currently looking for an experienced Air System Engineer to fill an opening with an aerospace company in Renton, WA. Interested candidate should have strong knowledge of flight test operations and flight certification, including a familiarity with aircraft cabin temperature controls, low pressure cabin air distribution, avionics cooling, cabin pressurization, fire protection and anti-ice systems.

Responsibilities of the Air Systems Engineer

This Rome NY facility manufactures power transmission systems for both military and commercial aircraft utilizing manufacturing methods such as machining, welding, NDT inspection, painting, assembly, and testing.

This position requires the ability to migrate legacy manufacturing work instructions from Microsoft Excel into a new digital system called Solumina. Work on control and communications systems for state-of-the-art Infrared based vision products that are critical components for various existing surveillance and targeting systems.

Job Description:
This job is for a Senior Level Structural Strength (Stress) Analyst for the Air Mobility and Maritime Missions program supporting the C-130, LM-100J, C-5, and P-3 aircraft responsible for performing stress analysis on new and modified designs to validate that positive margins of safety exist for all failure modes under all operational and design criteria loading conditions. Job entails conducting strength analyses for primary and secondary structure and mechanisms, providing support to production during airframe manufacture, and substantiation of structural repairs for fielded aircraft. This individual must have a significant amount of experience conducting classical hand analysis of aircraft structure for various failure modes. Proficiency with FEA codes such as Nastran/Patran, StressCheck, and APEX is a plus. Individual must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. They must be capable of interpreting detail, assembly, and installation drawings. Basic qualification is a bachelor's degree from an accredited college in civil, mechanical, aerospace, or aeronautical engineering.
