Senior Mass Properties Engineer - Aerospace and Defense

Several Senior Mass Properties Engineers are needed for a proven and reliable world leader in Aviation Air-to-Ground Communications, Unmanned Aircraft Systems and Tactical Reconnaissance Radars, as well as advanced high-resolution Surveillance Systems.




Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Interface with multiple engineering disciplines to establish policy and procedures for companywide control and documentation of mass properties and weight & balance of aerospace vehicles.
Perform detailed analysis tasks to insure hardware meets all mass properties and inertia estimates.
Establish testing requirements and control methods for weights and balance of completed systems.
Lead setup and test for weights and balance of completed systems.
Perform various mechanical design tasks related to demonstrated competencies as directed.
Apply Automated Weight & Balance Systems (AWBS) procedures for aerospace applications.
Additional Qualifications: A Professional Engineering License is desirable.



Required Experience:

10 to 15 years of experience with establishing and controlling weights and balance for aircraft.
Subject Matter Expert in the field of Weights and Mass in the aerospace industry as typically demonstrated by previously published work in industry publications, presented on subject matter in national engineering symposiums, or a holder of patents in this field.
Has demonstrated leadership ability by directing/developing the solutions to highly technical and complex engineering problems and has been a key participant in attracting and retaining engineering business as well as professional staff.
Must posses the ability to guide the resolution of unusually complex technical problems, champion the development of new concepts and principles; and serve as an expert spokesperson on those concepts and principles.
Must also possess excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, be customer focused, and able to work on a self-initiated basis or in a team environment.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree, Master's degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from a four year accredited institution.
