Job Summary:

Coordinate transportation and movement of required parts for heavy maintenance checks. Sourcing and expediting materials from vendors, and other airlines — creating purchase/exchange orders. Communicates to Maintenance and Supply Chain material requirements and shortages. Heavily engage in planning, purchasing, production, transportation, storage, distribution, and customer service.


Job Duties:

• Shipping/receiving of required aircraft materials. Monitoring all moving parts of Heavy Check Orders from initial starting point to final destination and communicating status updates and changes to multiple
departments.

• Performing daily transactions in FMIS — including receiving, part effectivity, inventory transaction, pick-list creation, purchase, transfer, and exchange orders.

• Directly source items from approved vendors, after factoring in lowest overall cost and time restraints.

• Ensure that all aircraft material requirements are communicated, understood, and executed throughout the Supply Chain — to include AOG Desk, Material Planning, Purchasing, Repair & Warranty and Material Services.

• Alert Maintenance and Supply Chain management to discrepancies and material issues that may impact the maintenance operation and work to develop solutions.

• Develop and utilize inventory control processes, ensuring accurate accountability and availability of materials.

• Train and develop co-workers on FMIS functionalities, inventory control, receiving & shipping, and sourcing procedures.

• Monitor removal and shipment of core returns to ensure maximum repair and inventory efficiency.

• Coordinate transportation and shipping logistics for critical materials as required, including working with “counter-to-counter” couriers, heavy freight and internal shipment methods as appropriate.

• Assist with maintenance materials/parts inventory analysis.

• Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, and freight forwarders.

• Gather and analyze information on supplier/vendor performance to determine program success.

• Confer with Planning to forecast demand and implement supply strategies to ensure availability of materials.

• Pull and ship AOG items to be processed as COMAT shipments to stations in support of the RON and daily processes. Coordinate through Load Planning and Ramp Services to ensure COMAT shipments are
manifested and shipped in a timely manner.

• Receive materials, ensuring material matches the accompanying documentation, examining material for shortages, overages and obvious damage, and preparing related documentation.

• All other duties are reasonably requested by the Sr. Manager Materials Management.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Aviation, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience

• Minimum of 4 years of supply chain experience

• Knowledge of FMIS operating system strongly preferred

• Familiarity with international shipping regulations (U.S. Customs)

• Strong analytical, research, data processing, and computer skills

• Competent in Microsoft Office Suite

• Capable of multi-tasking several projects and tasks

• Must provide support for a 24/7 operation — available on day-shifts, night-shifts, and weekends

• Strong oratory and written skills will be required to participate and communicate on daily/weekly conference calls
