Subsystems Engineer

Description:
Seeking a Subsystems Engineer for an opening in Palmdale, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position with Advanced Development Programs in Palmdale, California-- o Perform subsystem integration activities on a Skunk Works project. o Support development of internal arrangement drawings including a system-level definition of the major aircraft systems such as electrical/hydraulic/fuel systems and flight controls systems. o Perform sizing and develop preliminary sub-system definition and requirements documentation for these systems. o Perform trade studies to balance subsystem performance, reliability, and cost. o Support development of the Bill of Material for the flight demonstrator. o Identify candidate suppliers for major aircraft subsystems. o Generate supplier Statements of Work. US Citizenship is required. Active Secret Clearance required. This position is located at a facility that requires special access

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Active Secret Clearance is required. Experience generating layouts and designs of various aircraft subsystems. o Experience designing systems utilizing 3-D CAD tools. o Microsoft Office proficiency.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
CATIA V5 experience. o Subsystems modeling and simulation experience utilizing MATLAB/Simulink, AMESim, NPSS, or other modeling software. o Self-motivated and ability to work with nebulous requirements to advance an aircraft design. o Experience writing and negotiating specifications, Statements of work, Request for information, and Request for proposal with vendors. Experience writing proposals.

-9/80, 1st Shift
