Design Engineer



Location: Windsor Locks, CT (06096)


Manages highly complex drafting and design of assembly drawings based on layouts, sketches and blueprints. May include utilization of computer aided design applications.

This position will be responsible for designing all tooling for (SLS) hardware and ensuring that the processes for tool design are followed.

Candidate will create tool designs working with the cognizant Manufacturing or Test Engineers.
Candidate must ensure processes and procedures comply with all applicable Environmental, Health and Safety requirements as well as all the applicable quality requirements.
Must be able to review drawings and concepts and resolve producibility concerns.
Must be able work well in an integrated product development/ design environment.
Candidate must possess a positive attitude and be able communicate well with staff, IPD teams & management.
Desired experience should include development of tooling for complex mechanical systems, and components such as, heat exchangers, pumps, fans, & accumulators.
Candidate must have experience in the design of complex mechanical hardware or tooling.
Desired experience should include GD&T and ANSI Y14.5, ability to design for manufacturing simplicity and a strong understanding of technical blueprints.
The candidate must be proficient in CREO or similar Cad software. Experience with Windchill is a plus.
