Participate in cost proposals by estimating Manufacturing Engineering tasks, tooling costs and developing manufacturing plans. Establish touch labor cost targets on shop/lab activities as requested. Define tool and gage requirements. Provide the necessary input and support to the tool design group. Ensure adequate tools and gages are available when needed in the process. Work with the Manufacturing Control Planner to establish the schedule for all Manufacturing Engineering and Assembly efforts.

Provide support to all activities during the fabrication of the initial unit (first article) of each specific design to resolve processing problems. Review and implement engineering changes to determine feasibility, producibility and delta cost impact. Determine, implement and lead process improvement opportunities, business unit initiatives and corrective actions. Lead efforts to understand non-conformances and reduce Cost of Poor Quality. Lead 3P events, Value Stream Mapping events, and the implementation of Process Certification.

*Education / Certifications
BS in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a Technology Degree.

*Experience/Qualifications
-Experience in determining manufacturing methods and writing manufacturing assembly documentation in order to assemble high quality, highly engineered hardware.

Create a system for tracking the currency of aircrew flight physiology training, to include altitude chamber initial and recurrent training.
Perform ergonomic assessments of workplace settings, ranging from aircraft seating to office functions conducive to repetitive stress disorder.
Work shifts as the “on-call” safety representative for time-sensitive safety issues, to include occasionally being on-call after normal business hours.
Assist and/or lead incident investigations and participate in management review of all serious incidents.
Develops and implements the human performance elements of the Risk Management (RM) program and instructs strategic and real-time RM principles to employees and executive staff.
Participate in annual budget and requirements development process for the safety team.

We are looking for a candidate to lead the engineering team in the accomplishment of repairs for in service aircraft and aircraft in heavy maintenance.

AUTHORITY:

Job Description / Responsibilities:
- Produce moderately-complex technical designs for civil / architectural / structural and some mechanical modifications to new and existing facility related systems in support of company Atlas V, Delta IV and future Vulcan Launch Operations at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Florida.
- Provides CAD and project support for the construction of new and refurbishment of existing system elements as part of the company Engineering and Infrastructure Team.
- Requires extensive knowledge of civil, structural, architectural and mechanical drafting practices and sound knowledge of engineering design principles, practices, and industry standards.
- Candidate must have a wide and comprehensive acquaintance with and understanding of, both the technical phases of designing and fabricating industrial facilities, structures, personnel access support equipment and facility platform systems.
- Develops basic data and makes preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present for design proposal then maturing to final design.
- Investigate pertinent design factors such as structural member allowable stresses, ease of fabrication, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability and cost.
- Derive requirements, incorporating innovations and options to reach project objectives within schedule and budget.
- Provides engineering support for short and long term infrastructure planning and capital improvement construction projects and maintenance operations.
- Coordinates with other organizations affected by the design development.
- Checks completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning.
- Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers.
- Responsible for the generating Statement of Work implementation documentation used to direct subcontractors for fabrication and construction efforts. Work also in support of fabrication and construction phases, coordinating schedules and managing submittals and requests for information.


Educational and Professional Qualifications:
- The successful candidate should have at least (10) years of relevant design experience in building and/or modifying heavy industrial facilities, support equipment and access structures.
- Also, he/she should have at least (10) years of Autodesk AutoCAD, (3) years minimum experience using 3D BIM AutoDesk Revit modeling.
- Shall have experience with CAD file conversion, hardware configuration, and drawing database management.
- Candidates may need to demonstrate design and CAD proficiency skills during interview process.
- Degree not required.
- Must have relevant designer role experience with expert level CAD skills.

Systems Engineer

This opportunity requires an individual who can perform in a key role within the systems development, integration, and installation activities on complex systems. Additionally, the candidate should be experienced in ground based radio (HF/UHF/VHF) voice and data communications systems used in military and civil air traffic management environments.

The current project position supports engineering, integration, test, and deployment activities associated with lifecycle upgrades, equipment changes, operations, and maintenance within an existing radio communication station management system that is comprised of a diverse mix of voice and data telecommunications and computer network technologies. The management system is based on a custom software application utilizing multiple databases to control and manage a variety of radio, antenna, and peripheral components using serial and Ethernet data protocols specific to those components within each radio station. The primary control network is a TCP/IP computer network utilizing commercially available IP routers and Microsoft Windows servers and workstations within a single Active Directory Domain to host the control application. Voice switching services within the system allow radio operators to fully access the radio voice functions to individually support two way voice communications with mobile and other fixed radio platforms as well as to initiate data services with those platforms as needed. The system is globally distributed transmitter, receiver, and control sites operating 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

The successful candidate will be a non-specialized (adaptable to a wide range of legacy and future technologies), energetic and positive-thinking individual who is able to function effectively in a dynamic team environment. Skills specific to information system and voice telecommunication technologies such as IP routers, telephone switching and computer operating systems is valued. The engineer will be responsible for performing systems engineering tasks including direct hands on installation and deployment of software and hardware upgrades for the full life cycle of a system under limited supervision.

Candidate should have the following general experience/skills:
-Systems engineering experience in multiple development stages (systems design, development, integration, installation, test and delivery support)
-Have experience in concept development including authoring technical reports, vendor assessments, and rough order of magnitude estimates
-Participated in communications system design (systems design through systems integration, test and delivery support)
-Performing systems and subsystem architecture and top level design through integration and test
-Experienced in requirement validation, functional analysis, decomposition, derivation and requirement allocation
-Have knowledge of requirements management tools such as Jama and DOORS, and analysis tools such as Rhapsody and/or Enterprise Architect
-Have knowledge and experience with design and implementation of network architectures that involve COTS equipment including routers, servers, and network transports
-Have knowledge and experience with design and implementation of HF/UHF/VHF radio communication systems, including audio switching equipment, radio control subsystems, transmitting and receiving equipment and radio data communication protocols
-Coordination with internal organizations including hardware and software, as well as project leadership
-Coordination with customers to include responding to Requests for Information (RFI), Bid and Proposal, and assisting definition and influencing of customer requirements
-Able to contribute to clean sheet architecture designs
-Proven track record of implementing complex systems

Must Have Requirements:
-Ability to quickly acquire technical domain knowledge and contribute to the design/implementation of sophisticated architectural systems
-Well-disciplined in systems engineering processes and methodologies
-Strong understanding of software and hardware engineering processes and methodologies
-Ability to work proactively and be self-directed, requiring limited oversight
-Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking to make sound, well-informed decisions
-Demonstrated ability to perform professionally during technical interchange (written and verbal) directly with management and customers

Preference will be given to those candidates who meet the needed skills and experience set and that currently hold an active U.S. DoD SECRET security clearance.
