System Engineer

Description:
An EMU Systems Engineer is a versatile professional with a base degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering and experience in one or more disciplines such as electro-mechanical design, test, mechanical design, or analysis. Cross-functional experience is highly desired.

Reading engineering drawings, assessing operations and test sheets, as well as assessing data from ground and flight are all key abilities. Involved in assessing proposed engineering changes, making specification changes/updates, certification and re-certification testing and reporting, customer interfacing for real time issues, monitoring system performance on EVA and many other related tasks, often involving customer interfacing.

Ability to perform gas and fluid analysis is important. Previous experience with High Pressure O2 is a big plus. Knowledge of the typical suite of MS products is required. Other software knowledge, including heat transfer, fluid and gas flow is a plus.

Both strong oral and written skills are required. Verbal and oral skills should be professional in character and precise. Candidates must be able to work in a small, highly scrutinized, tight knit team with the goal of crew safety as their defining characteristic. .
