Tool Design Engineer

Description:
Tool Design Engineer in Clearfield, UT.
$38.00-$56.50/hr
1 year contract

**Candidate must possess an Active Secret Security Clearance with an investigation within the last 4.5 years (or 4 years 6 months).**

Job Description:
Tool Engineer will work in a composite aircraft and rocket moto fabrication environment.

Job Responsibilities:
Concept and design of special tooling within an Integrated Product Team structure
Project management of vendor and CAD resources for design and fabrication of individual rocket motor and aircraft tools
Use and/or manages Computer Aided Design (CAD) resources for tooling design
Work with vendors to ensure successful fabrication of tooling
Witnesses source inspection of special tooling at fabrication locations
Proof tooling upon receipt
Maintain tooling documentation related to design, fabrication and proofing
Provide engineering disposition of damaged and discrepant tooling and oversee return to production
Provides tooling estimates for new tools
Basic Hiring Criteria:
BS in Mechanical, Civil or Aerospace Engineering,
Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience with the design of mechanical and structural elements and general metallic fabrication including: welding, machining, and forming.
Desired Qualifications:
Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance highly preferred.
Experience with design, fabrication and installation of tooling for rocket motor and/or aircraft composite parts preferred.
Understanding of 3D CAD systems (CATIA V5, NX) preferred.
