Journeyman Pipe Fitter

Description:

  • Reads and interprets Contract Documents, along with Architectural, Structural and Mechanical Drawings.

  • Read and interpret Submittals and Shop Drawings.

  • Possess a basic understanding of HVAC Piping System Operations.

  • Possess a basic understanding of SMACNA Standards for Duct/System Installations.

  • Possess current certifications to operate Forklifts, Scissor Lifts, Boom Lifts, and any other equipment necessary to perform a job.

  • Performs layout of HVAC Piping and Mechanical Systems.

  • Possess all tools required to perform job requirements.

  • Understanding of all types of piping assembly and installations.

  • Has the ability to construct and install HVAC related piping systems with limited supervision.

  • Assists with hands-on training of co-workers.

QUALIFICATIONS


 

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:  High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.  Current                                                                          City of Phoenix Journeyman's License

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:         Knowledge of the HVAC industry.  Basic understanding of assembly, fabrication, and installation of all types of piping systems related to a HVAC system.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:           At least four (4) years of related experience

 

SKILLS/ABILITIES:                       Well organized, accurate and attentive to detail.  Excellent communications and public relations abilities.  Ability to assist and support others.

Mechanical Design Engineer (Process Systems)

Description:
Key Duties:

  • Develop concepts for new piping systems and provide flow, flexibility, thermal, structural, or any other required analysis to support the proposed design.

  • Evaluate the analysis results for suitability relative to applicable codes and standards.

  • Provide engineering support to the appropriate craft workforce to facilitate maintenance and repair of existing systems.

  • Evaluate existing hardware for safety, security and potential for improvement.

  • Serve as the design point of contact or lead designer on larger, more complex projects.

  • Work with the project managers and project engineers to ensure that design input into cost, schedule, and other project-level decisions is accurate and complete.

  • Provide guidance to and check the work of less experienced engineers.

  • Work with the design team (drafters, checkers, etc.) to produce complete design packages, including detailed drawings, analysis reports, and equipment specifications, and be capable of communicating the details of these design packages to the remaining project team (system engineers, test engineers, project managers, craft supervisors, etc.)

  • Provide engineering guidance to support the procurement of pumps, valves, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, or other hardware necessary for the fabrication and installation of the proposed design.

  • Coordinate with the appropriate system engineer, craft supervisor, and/or work planner to ensure that hardware is fabricated and installed in accordance with the approved design package.

  • It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.

  • Perform other related duties as required.


 

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:



  • Must have an Active Secret government clearance.

  • 5 or more years of experience in the design and analysis of process systems.

  • Technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and construction methods and materials, and application of computer aided engineering (CAE)/computer aided design (CAD) tools to engineering problems.

  • Experience with the design of complete piping systems including pumps, valves, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and other related equipment.

  • Experience performing flow and flexibility analysis of complete piping systems.

  • Experience developing equipment specifications.

  • Experience reading, interpreting, and creating detailed fabrication and installation drawings.

  • Participates in and fosters a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.

  • Ability to closely coordinate with manufacturing to ensure economic designs.

  • Basic skill in verbal and written communication.

  • Familiarity with turbine and rocket test cells, wind tunnels, space chambers, and/or arc heater facilities; or other industry product test facilities is desirable.

  • Familiarity with Caesar II software package.

  • Familiarity with Applied Flow Technology (AFT) Arrow, Fathom and Impulse software packages.

  • Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD software packages.

Job Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with the Project Manager (PM) and provide technical expertise and leadership in the development of refinery fired heater revamp projects ranging from $5 MM to $55MM. This position will work closely with other contract engineering firms, owner discipline engineering subject matter experts (SME’s), inspection, operations and maintenance teams.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
Coordination of multidisciplined engineering teams in meeting project objectives. Main responsibility will be for multiple Fired Heater Revamp and Repair projects.
Action resolution; facilitate and provide mechanical engineering expertise.
Effectively facilitate, champion and coordinate operations, maintenance and turnaround team’s involvement to ensure project operability and maintainability
Effectively champion and facilitate project value improving practices including safety in design, value engineering, constructability, operability and maintainability.
Facilitate and contribute to process safety management (PSM) process and procedures including management of change (MOC) and Process Hazards Analysis (PHA).
Solicit input from our client subject matter experts (SME’s) as required to ensure project compliance to the Refinery Engineering Practices (REP’s) and Refinery Engineering Practices (AREP’s). As needed, initiate and facilitate deviations.
Effectively facilitate, coordinate and document review meetings and technical proceedings

Required:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical or Petroleum
2. Experienced with mechanical and piping revamp work within oil refining or petrochemical environment
3. Experienced with mechanical fired heater revamp and repairs.
4. Five (5) or more years of oil refining or chemical experience
5. Working knowledge of API 560 Fired Heater Standards as well as ASME B 31.3 (Process Piping), ASME Section 8 (Pressure Vessels)
6. Familiar with Welding technology / metallurgy
7. Has clearly demonstrated strong engineering competence and critical problem-solving skills in team work environments.
8. Strong written and oral communication skills
9. Energetic, self-starter that works well and interacts well within a team environment
10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications; Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint

Welder

Description:
Nesco Resource is hiring a Welder for a prominent Manufacturing Company located in the Danbury, CT area.



Under general supervision, the welder/pipe fitter is responsible for assembling and installing piping systems, pipe supports, and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Installs pipe for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating and industrial production and processing systems. They will also be responsible for welding as it pertains to industrial burners, piping systems ranging from 1/2” to 12” and other fuel oil or steel plate assemblies.



Required Qualifications:



  • Minimum education requirement: HS graduate or GED.

  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in manufacturing or industrial setting.

  • Must be capable of interpreting blueprints, fabricating and welding to specifications.

  • Must be able to perform job in safe manner and produce a quality product.

  • Must successfully complete weld tests, which passes both visual and X-ray testing when needed.

  • Forklift certified 





This Position is Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm It is a Right to Hire/ Temp to hire position.
