Description:
An Advanced Engineering Technician job in Scottsdale, AZ is currently available through Belcan with one of our premiere defense industry clients. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. To be considered for this role, you will have an Associate's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent, plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. A current active Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at the time of hire.

Advanced Engineering Technician Job duties:

* Performs a variety of equipment/process operations involving an application or technical skills in a specific area (electrical, software, manufacturing, etc.).
* Interprets basic engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics.
* Constructs, modifies, debugs, troubleshoots, calibrates, tests and adjusts a variety of tools, equipment and systems.

You Will:
• Lay up, bagging, and curing of composite and metal bonded panels; including setting running an autoclave.
• Machining, drilling, trimming and end tabbing of composite test specimens.
• Adhesive bonding with both paste and film adhesives, apply primers.
• Setting up and performing mechanical tests on various test coupon configurations; mechanical testing to include both static and fatigue tests, with and without strain gauges or extensometers, over wide range of temperatures.
• Conduct Destructive Testing & Evaluation of different production aircraft components and write summary technical report of the findings and conclusions.
• Lead mini projects (Test Requests) through all stages to completion; interfacing with the customer when needed.

Education:
Associates Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Materials Science, Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering or FAA A & P Certification.

You'll Need:
• Have a mechanical aptitude
• Technical knowledge of the application of adhesives, sealants, primers and composites.
• Perform composite layup, bagging and curing, machining, bonding, and including the ability to run an autoclave.

Develop and evaluate checkpoint and design milestone artifacts and Contract Data Requirements List (CDRLs) and review to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with contract requirements
What You’ll Need:

Strong background in high level programming language such as C, C++ , C#, Java, or Ada, particularly in the area of embedded software
Minimum of 10 years related engineering experience preferred
Experience with operating system internals of Linux or VxWorks
Experience with reverse engineering and analysis of software, and experience with cybersecurity tools (i.e. Metasploit, Nessus, Nmap, Fortify, ACAS)
Low-level programming of device drivers in a Linux or VxWorks environment

What You’ll Do:

Process requests for quotes to suppliers - prior experience is preferred
Focus is on completing tasks or activities in compliance with policies and procedures
Support proposal and design to cost activities to meet Program needs and requirements
Review and analyze top suppliers for risk and performance
Coordinate design to cost and design to unit cost activities with internal partners to acquire products and services in a cost effective and timely manner
Develop and maintain resources for assigned commodity items
Prepare standard requests for quotation
Analyze financial data and makes a risk determination
Collaborate with commodity managers, line of business managers, engineering, material leads and estimators to make them aware of potential supplier risk
Support the proposal development activities in the entry of quotes into the proposal system
May assist on small/medium and top opportunity proposals
Maintain files, logs, records of invoices, purchase orders and other related documentation
Monitor program activity to ensure end user accountability and compliance to program and policy
Coach end users and provides assistance with reconciliation
What You’ll Need:

Proficient with MS office and other software tools
Knowledge of reading a Bill of Materials and parts list
Solid understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a varied range of tasks
Requires decision-making but with minimal financial implications to the company
Strong administrative skills
Strong computer skills, proficiency with MS office and other software tools
Good interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written
Good problem solving skills
