A&P Mechanic

Description:
Velocity represents an aerospace flight test, engineering and certification organization that provides development services to aircraft modifiers and OEM’s. They are a mid-size but rapidly growing company in Seattle, WA that was founded in 2001. They have a new flight test facility in Moses Lake WA. The strategic purpose of the Test and Evaluation (T&E) Support Unit is to provide comprehensive, full-service aerospace flight-testing and evaluation services. The Test and Evaluation Support Unit provides four areas of expertise: Test Planning, Instrumentation, Ground Operations and Flight Operations. This position is responsible for maintenance support of all flight operations

Primary Role: Performing routine and periodic maintenance throughout all phases of flight testing; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.

Secondary Role: Support flight test engineers and ground operations personnel as necessary by helping to install test instrumentation, wiring, and custom manufactured hardware.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform daily pre and post flight inspections.
Perform routine servicing of aircraft systems.
Perform aircraft systems checks and calibration as required.
Trouble shoot and repair pre and post flight squawks in a timely manner.
Assist in the installation and removal of essential flight test instrumentation hardware and wiring.
Routine removal of panels to route and access flight test instrumentation wires and hardware.
Maintain safe operations and workspace.
Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

Experience in maintenance support related to flight test is desired but not required.

Job Title: Aerodynamicist with Performance & Handling Qualities (P&HQ) expertise. Main Purpose of the Role is seeking an experienced cross-disciplinary engineer with experiences in aerodynamics and computational fluid dynamics. The candidate will build on an intimate knowledge of all aircraft systems and have the ability to support and develop new project initiatives.

Description:

Description:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, the qualified candidate will be a motivated self-starter who can work with other engineers to resolve technical problems, establish approaches for solutions, and complete mechanical scope of work. (ADME) Core Services - Supplier Development Lead

PURPOSE OF ROLE
The ADME Core Services Group supplements ADME’s technical expertise with best-in-class project management capability, enabling our functional org to excel in meeting its business objectives. The Supplier Development pillar of Core Services focuses on providing expertise in the development, management, and execution of processes and metrics for ADME’s Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), ensuring the parts and assemblies we design actually get built and delivered according to critical program objectives.

New position on the Combat Search and Rescue Helicopter (CRH) will provide engineering leadership in managing supplier Non Recurring Engineering (NRE) related parts. The position will require an individual with organizational skills bringing leadership and direction to a multi-disciplined team including Supply Management, Operations, Quality, Program Management, and all of our NRE-related Suppliers. The Supplier Development Lead is responsible for coordinating tooling and part fabrication, RFQ/purchase order placement, and part delivery to the aircraft to support the CRH program’s aircraft build and delivery schedule.

JOB DUTIES
1. Providing Engineering oversight and support of the supplier selection process
2. Working with suppliers to develop a schedule that’s achieves program objectives/milestones.
3. Generate and maintain metrics to track RFQ placement and supplier response, negotiations, PR and PO issuance and part delivery
4. Conduct regular briefings to program management, functional engineering and the external customer including presentation of metrics
5. Monitoring and reporting supplier progress for input to the program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
6. Preparing Change Requests to detail plan parts as they are put under Purchase Order agreement
7. Allocating part actuals to the Integrated Master Schedule
8. Leading recurring meetings with key suppliers to review progress and resolve issues
9. Work between Engineering POCs and suppliers to respond to questions and help resolve technical issues associated the Statement of Work (SOW)
10. Statusing Earned Value of parts and providing variance analysis/reporting as required
11. Travel to key supplier facilities may be required.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering or Business is required.
• Team building and communication skills are key to the success of this position.
• Earned value experience, Lean (Six Sigma/ACE) and aerospace experience, with specific knowledge of dynamic components, is preferred.
• Experience with tools including SAP, Primavera, and wInsight is a plus.

PURPOSE
This specific position will concentrate on the test-conduct phase to include attendance at flight briefs, TM-monitoring and flight de-briefs.

JOB DUTIES
1. Participate within existing teams to support the planning, conduct, and reporting of propulsion related helicopter ground and flight tests.
Test typically include thermal surveys, fire extinguishing and suppression system evaluations, determination of installed engine power, inlet and exhaust surveys, and characterization of engine-airframe compatibility together with FADEC-based control systems, fuel systems, and environmental control systems.
2. The job will require the acquisition of significant volumes of data that must be examined for quality, processed, analyzed and presented to various stake-holders
3. Adherence to flight test processes, safety procedures and ITC/ITAR requirements is essential for any candidate responding to this posting.

SKILLS REQUIRED
- Candidate must possess prior flight test and propulsion-systems related technical knowledge; fixed wing experience is acceptable.
- Knowledge of data systems and instrumentation performance (thermal / pneumatic) is required.
- Candidate must accept flexible working hours to include OT and weekends and - Candidate is expected to be a self-starter who quickly assimilates with the team and can contribute immediately. Initiative and self-reliance are paramount traits.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years' experience in aerospace.
GPA: 3.0 from accredited school of engineering.
