RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate must have a common knowledge of tooling required for performance of aircraft structural work. Must be a qualified aviation sheet metal mechanic, employee must have experience in aviation sheet metal, hardware installation such as rivet installation, HI-Loc installation, etc. Candidate must have fabrication to facilitate plane side repairs.
Candidate must have advanced sheetmetal skills that can work with little direction on complex modifications.

Airframe Structural Analysis Engineer - For Military Aircraft

Description:
Develops and provides engineering solutions for the overhaul and repair of large transport aircraft structural components, requiring a sound knowledge of the principles, theories, and concepts that are consistent with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regulations. Technical foundation to perform approvals of single and multi-use repair packages, and manage product center workflow and schedules,. Manage projects and special assignments with little to no supervision. May function as a team lead for less experienced engineers.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:

Reviews damage reports to develop repair schemes, authors work instructions, and performs the stress analysis and substantiation supporting the repair with no supervision. Repair development and substantiation will include a variety of analysis methods and require an established knowledge of mechanically fastened metallic structure, adhesively bonded metallic structure, composite structure, welding, and brazing. Developed repairs must be substantiated to meet or exceed the original design certification requirements.

Established knowledge of, and ability to apply repair analysis techniques such as Boeing Structures I and II, ABARIS/Laminate Plate Theory, Bruhn, Flabel, ETC. Develops and substantiates complex repair schemes with no supervision.

Working knowledge of FAA and EASA regulations, AD’s, NPRM’s, AC’s, AMC’s, SDR’s, EWIS, etc. Other aviation authority knowledge such as CAAC/JAA/JCAB is a plus.

Performs technical review and approval of less experienced engineer’s repair packages.

• They will identify the damage to the airframe, or component that is outside of the aircraft manual and will need to use classical analysis methods to create a repair concept that will restore the airframes load path. Structure will be both composite and metallic.

Deceleration Engineer

Duties:
Our client in Orlando, FL is seeking an Aerospace or Mechanical Engineer to support the deceleration team. This team is responsible for design and analysis of the parachute systems used for air-extraction of our various launch vehicles. These air-extractions are similar in concept to standard military cargo extraction from aircraft like the C-130 or C-17A.

The successful candidate will be asked to perform parachute design activities through 6DOF simulation and loads analysis. This entails designing parachute structures, reefing ratios, riser and mainline lengths, etc. to ensure a successful extraction and descent while ensuring launch vehicle load capabilities are not exceeded. The candidate will be expected to read, understand, update, and maintain a 6 Degree-of-Freedom simulation used to simulate the extraction and descent of our clients launch vehicles. This position will require a background in vector mechanics, dynamics, and software configuration control processes. The candidate may also participate in estimating aerodynamic properties and loads through the use of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software.

EWIS 2D Engineer

Description:
We are currently seeking an electrical design engineer with EWIS experience to join a diverse team of aerospace experts for an exciting new aviation project in Nagoya, Japan. Interested candidates should have familiarity with industry specifications and standards associated with EWIS, including but not limited to electrical design for different aircraft systems, wiring diagram requirement definition, ESSDs, electrical assemblies and overall system development methodologies.

Responsibilities of the EWIS 2D Engineer
Act as wiring designer as part of 2D wiring interconnection team.
Support the design, development and finalization of the aircraft design, compliant to all requirements.
Evaluate the current aircraft design with respect to compliance to the EWIS related airworthiness regulations of JCAB, FAA and EASA.
Coordinating integration of design change activities related to EWIS requirements when required.
Perform verification and compliance activities, such as Ground and Flight Tests, Design Reviews, Inspections and Analysis.
Perform all activities related to defining the ESSDs required to generate and creating Wiring Diagrams.
Manage the creation of WHR using the HDMS tool.
Support and review technical documents related to EWIS requirements and design.
Coaching and educating of other members about the EWIS domain.
Provide technical expertise and to assist in resolving the EWIS issues during any rig testing, installation, ground testing or flight testing.


Requirements

Familiarity with industry specifications and standards associated with EWIS, including but not limited to electrical design for different aircraft systems, wiring diagram requirement definition, ESSDs, electrical assemblies and overall system development methodologies.
Experience with translating from existing aircraft system schematics and wiring diagrams.
Familiar with selection of components used in aerospace wire harness construction and installation.
Experience using dedicated tooling associated with wire harness manufacturing/assembly.
Capable of resolving technical issues relating to EWIS.
Experience with ENOVIA / CATIA V5/V6 Wiring Workbench or VISIO is preferred.
Proficient at prototyping new designs and performing rework.
Experience with surface mount components is preferred.

Engineer – Aircraft Structural Modification Support

Description:
PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking an Aircraft Structural Modification Support Engineer in Lexington, MA. 

Aircraft Structural Modification Support
2. Background/Need
Group 108 works to understand air defense issues, in particular, air vehicle survivability, vulnerability of U.S. Air Force (USAF) aircraft to weapons systems, electronic countermeasures, and air surveillance for homeland defense. The focus is on understanding USAF and threat air defense systems through tests and measurements. Test activities include flight, field, and laboratory testing. We operate three airplanes, all highly instrumented and numerous ground systems as needed for test efforts. We also develop new hardware for testing and prototype systems as well as for instrumenting existing sensors. Group 108 requires for one full time Engineer to support the aircraft structural modification project.
3. Position Scope/Job Functions
Candidate will be responsible for the management of a multi-year transformation of a Gulfstream IV-SP into the next Airborne Sensor Test Bed (ASTB). The project entails major airframe modifications including fuselage and wing strengthening, the integration of under wing / centerline instrumentation pods, nose and tail electromagnetic and optical sensors, a sonobuoy or dropsonde release system and major electrical/data infrastructure. Candidate will participate in overseeing vendors performing the necessary aircraft modifications and ensuring that the work is properly executed, documented and delivered on schedule. Support will also include design and conduct of a flight test program to demonstrate compliance with modifications specifications and to obtain FAA approvals for continued operations. Related work will include establishment of a configuration management program and documentation archive to support the aircraft throughout its life.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-22 Training Systems Test Pilot SME to accomplish system design, integration, and test for the F-22 Mission Training Center (F-22 MTC). Responsibilities include:
- The successful candidate will work independently and will assist other members of the Test Team in the performance of day-to-day operations in a fast-paced testing environment.
- Team members create and execute Test Procedures to ensure the trainers correctly simulates aircraft performance and the operational environment.

EDUCATION:
Accredited education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
