Aerospace Electrical Engineer

Description:
Aerospace Electrical Engineer

The electrical engineer supports various company projects and programs across the entire life cycle of design and development. This engineer will perform the preliminary and detail design of aircraft electrical propulsion, battery systems, and control software and electrical systems structure.



Specific Responsibilities:

Electric aircraft propulsion and battery controls design.
Develop Electric Vehicle system ICDs.
Support FAA certification program
Avionics systems integration, development, and testing.
Work independently with support of the propulsion system engineering lead.
Support the engineering effort by selecting COTS equipment with TSO certification
Define and track top-level requirements for systems as well as decompose and distribute subsequent detailed subsystems and component requirements.
Writing and executing test plans in support of FAA requirements verification & HIL testing.
Contribute to proposals, reports, and presentations where systems design issues are relevant.
Create and maintain electrical diagrams.
Prepare detail design packages for review, check and release.


Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
History of Schematic and wire harness design
Knowledge of Mentor graphics Capitol with a focus on schematic and harness design.
Familiarity with RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP4754A, SAE ARP4761, 14 CFR Part 27 and Part 29 for commercial and military qualification and certification of aircraft systems, and multiple data protocols
Experience with CAN bus (CAN open, J1939), RS232 and other serial protocols.


Desirable Qualifications:

Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
Experience with aircraft engineering and/or manufacturing.
Experience with FAA Certification requirements, testing and report writing.
Familiarity with FAA and EASA airworthiness and certification processes, including collaboration with DER's and DAR's.
