Job Description:
Our Client is seeking an individual to perform analog verification and research of advanced analog mixed signal integrated circuit blocks. The applicant must be familiar with analog, RF and mixed signal design/fabrication and the associated EDA design tools. Other duties may include designing test articles to evaluate security principles. The selected applicant will represent our Client and DoD customers in outside discussions and technical forums. This position will require some travel. The selected candidate will meet eligibility requirements for a DoD a security clearance.

Required Skills & Experience

Embedded Systems Engineer needed to join development team.



Job Responsibilities

  • Aid in the development of the Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) and/or Electronic Control Unit (ECU);

  • Create/refine finite state machines, and implement controllers for vehicle systems in software;

  • Aid in the development of a system for distributed control of an engine, electric motors, and actuators over a CAN network;

  • Support the design of a wing fold interface system working with existing electromechanical actuators/sensors;

  • Support definition of the data interface specification (e.g. CAN, RS-485, etc.);

  • Integrate microcontroller software for CAN bus based actuation and sensing per DO-178 (potentially implemented via Simulink and Stateflow);

  • Address custom CAN messaging and VCU communications with hand coding as required;

  • Participate as a key player in the design-build-test process, including conceptual, preliminary and detailed design, requirements definition, design reviews, prototyping, and testing;

  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with other engineers, technical personnel, and management;

  • Support and participate in testing activities component, drive, and/or flight as needed, including test plan creation, data analysis, and test report generation and documentation;

  • Support the Certification Director with compliance and certification activities and best practices, including design, test, and analysis documentation, internal and external audits, and other activities as needed.


Qualifications


  • The candidate must have:

    • A Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering and 5+ years technical work experience, or;

    • A Master's degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering and 3+ years technical work experience.



  • Proven experience with robust software development cycles: taking software from concept through detailed development, executing code on targets, and testing to internal/external requirements;

  • Proven experience developing software for automobiles, particularly for vehicle control;

  • Experience with CAN messaging protocol;

  • Outstanding organization, analytical, and problem solving skills;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills;

  • Software Experience: C/C++.


Highly Desired Qualifications

Description:
Model and calculate mass properties data to support all phases of project development. Translate customer requirements into mass models for development of mission profiles. Analyze mission configurations using 2D drawings and 3D CAD. Generate mass properties distributions for modifications and input to structural loads models. Lead weight reduction tasks.

Unique Skills:
-Associate degree in electrical engineering preferred.
-Experience with aircraft system wiring diagrams preferred.
-Experience with Mentor Graphics CHS or AutoCAD preferred.

Education and Experience Requirements:
-Associates degree in drafting, design, engineering, manufacturing technology, or equivalent combination of education/experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential job functions.
-Two (2) years related experience.
-Familiarity with computer-aided design systems and basic personal computing. Basic knowledge of engineering, engineering procedures and design drawing standards.

Position Purpose:
Under direct supervision, performs a variety of basic engineering tasks in a specialized area, receiving instruction as to the tasks required and the expected results. Prepares and maintains electronic datasets for engineering drawings with the assistance and direction of more experienced engineering personnel.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
1. Applies knowledge of common design and drafting principles, guidelines, specifications and standards to create basic electronic layouts, sketches, models, and drawings.
2. Obtains form, fit and functional data and verification from engineers or senior designers.
3. Coordinates drawing requirements and release with engineers and senior engineers.
4. Reconciles and integrates the input of engineers.
5. Develops and recommends alternatives to simplify and clarify design intent.
6. Incorporates information from sketches, notes, layouts and markups to produce graphic representations of designs using computer-aided design tools (Mentor Graphics, Oracle, Cadam, Catia, etc.).
7. Reviews work for accuracy and completeness prior to drawing check.
8. Follows established procedures to produce and revise electronic datasets.

Manufacturing Engineer III

Description:
Position Summary: This position will work with the Engineering and Manufacturing teams and will ensure the successful integration of each design element with production. This individual will work both independently as well as part of a team to complete projects related to the production of aircraft components, assemblies and installations involving metallic and composite assemblies. The individual will lead and coordinate projects to eliminate defects and reduce costs. The individual should be proficient in systems routing, finishes, human factors, structural assembly, and manufacturing processes. The individual will work on continuous improvement and corrective action while coordinating and with Engineering, Quality, M&P, Tool Services, Production, MTE, and Production Control. Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Demonstrate advanced knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within aerospace.
Communicate with suppliers, translate technical information and ensure compliance to standards and requirements.
Tackle complex multi-faceted problems with competing requirements under significant schedule constraints.
Identify critical issues, perform risk assessments and communicate impact to stakeholders.
Directs work of others and acts as a lead.
Supporting manufacturing with technical issues, e.g. design, documentation, specifications etc.
Tooling implementation.
Continuous improvement, cost out initiatives, process flow improvements
Transfer of product between facilities to maximize efficiencies.
Key interface between supporting departments and manufacturing e.g. Quality, Engineering.
Engage in the completion of safety risk assessment, ergonomics, to maintain a safe working environment.
Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills Requirements:

Requires a BSME, BSCE, BSAE, or a Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field and a minimum of 10+ years of experience in the Aerospace Industry or the equivalent in training, education and experience.
Requires proficiency using CATIA V5.
Highly competent using MS Office products.
Strong leadership ability and excellent communication skills are necessary.
