Manufacturing Engineer w/Secret Clearance

Description:
*This is a full time, 6 month, contract position based in Lexington, KY*



We are hiring for a process or manufacturing engineer who will be design our DoD manufacturing facility for optimum performance.

The activities candidate will be involved in will include developing/improving process layouts/instructions, machining, sequence of operations, tooling fabrication, methods, and processes necessary to meet our production quality, delivery, manufacturing handling, and cost objectives.



Will work closely with teams including assemblers, testers, and inspectors as well as with design engineering to solve a variety of simple to complex manufacturing problems as well as coming up with the production plan. Will work on capacity planning, production floor layouts, help with capital equipment requirements forecasting, develop ROI analysis, continuous improvement edicts, root cause analysis, value steam mapping, performance metrics, etc.



Required:
*2 years’ experience as a process or manufacturing engineer.
*Experience with engineering drawings, work instructions, understanding of tolerances.
*Experience in Producibility for manufacturing; configuration control principles
*4 year engineering or equivalent degree (ME or IE preferred)
*Active (or Interim) Secret Clearance



Pluses:
*Lean Principles knowledge (training in Green/Black Belt is OK), tools and thinking experience
*Experience with work flows, process development of assemblies, tooling or mechanical integrations
*Both mechanical and electrical background
*Tool fabrication/assembly experience
*Teamcenter software experience; knowledge of CAD software
*AS9100 assembly/quality system back ground and track record of process improvement.
*DoD experience/standards testing
