Design Engineer - Electrical Brackets & Installation

Description:
General Summary:
The Electrical Brackets & Installation Design Engineer is responsible for the development, planning and coordination of electrical brackets and installation designs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develops and maintains electrical brackets and installation designs.
2. Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.
3. Develops statements of work, schedules and budgets.
4. Analyzes functional and physical input to assure development of complete integrated design architecture.
5. Provides specialized technical assistance to team members outside of the assigned group.
Uses advanced techniques and modified extension of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
6. Determines and develops own approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives.
Actively works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements.
Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related
aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product.

Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
1. Bachelors' degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field of study.
2. 8+ years of design engineering experience within aircraft structures is required.
3. Previous designing brackets for electrical harnesses and equipment installation is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Working knowledge of CATIA VS 3D solid modeling workbench or equivalent (i.e. - Solidworks, Unigraphics).
2. Familiarity with tolerance study (GD&T).
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Lotus Notes.
4. Ability to explain and present analysis and assumptions in a rational manner.
5. Ability to communicate effectively through all level throughout the organization.
6. Ability to work independently or within a team oriented environment.
