Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• The candidate will be responsible for the thermal design, analysis, and testing of assembly systems, subsystems, and components
• Tasks include performing preliminary and detailed thermal analysis on assembly systems and subsystems as well as performing comprehensive modeling of the entire thermal system using standardized processes and tools
• Tasks may also include providing support for thermal testing of systems, subsystems, and components
• In addition, the candidate will provide technical documentation and input to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, present analysis data to program and customer personnel at technical interchange meetings and design reviews
• Candidate will perform heat transfer using standardized thermal software tools, analyze thermal management systems, and coordinate requirements and design solutions with program personnel
• Responsible for research and development of viable thermal solutions for systems and components
• Experienced with relevant analytic tools for thermal analysis

Required:

• MS degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, or related field or a BS with at least 2 years’ Thermal Analysis experience in the aerospace industry
• Experience with thermal design of assembly systems, subsystems, and components
• Demonstrated strength in thermal analysis with a desire to learn more and demonstrated strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Experience performing heat transfer analysis
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills for generating thermal plans, thermal analysis reports, documentation, and potentially proposals are necessary
• Candidate must be able to obtain a security clearance

Preferred:

• Experience with CAD modeling using PTC CREO, FORTRAN programming, CFD software (Star CCM+, FlowEFD), and Siemens NX CAD and Thermal/Flow software suite
• Experience with MATLAB and Mathcad
• Creativity/innovation to solve issues related to thermal design performance of any aspect of thermal systems
• Experience developing and analyzing in thermal design of thermal management systems
• Experience calculating internal and external convection coefficients of simple and complex geometries and being able to research literature when necessary
• Experience writing environmental and component specifications, and system/subsystem/component test plans
• Considered an emerging authority

•Produce airframe structural configuration layouts and detail designs including preliminary sizing/stress analysis, joint layouts, interface boundary definitions of parts and assemblies employing metallic and composite materials.
•Create and maintain CAD solid models and drawings of installations, assembly and detail components that meet all requirements such as structural integrity, interface boundaries, weight and cost targets as directed by the project engineer.
•Periodically review and check the product structure and BOM’s of the team to insure fit, form, function of the structural components is maintained.
•Conduct periodic design reviews as required to ensure designs meet the requirements.
•Coordinate and collaborate with members of stress, manufacturing, procurement, quality control and other departments as required to mature the design from conception to production.  
•Create and maintain documentation that tracks team weekly progress status as it related to the Program budget and deadlines.
•Prepare PowerPoint presentations to support Program PDRs and CDRs.
Provide technical support and mentorship to those less experience members of the team.

Qualifications Essential Qualifications Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; six or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, four or more years of experience with a masters degree, or two or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education. Must have a thorough understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and, expanding knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties. Position Purpose:

Description:

Experience with CAD modeling using PTC CREO, FORTRAN programming, CFD software (Star CCM+, FlowEFD), and Siemens NX CAD and Thermal/Flow software suite. Experience with MATLAB and Mathcad.
Creativity/innovation to solve issues related to thermal design performance of any aspect of thermal systems. Experience developing and analyzing in thermal design of thermal management systems. Experience calculating internal and external convection coefficients of simple and complex geometries and being able to research literature when necessary.
Experience writing environmental and component specifications, and system/subsystem/component test plans. Considered an emerging authority.

-Perform and support mechanical design activities for rocket turbomachinery components and assemblies from concept through final detailed design.
-This position requires the development of design concepts, 3D models, and support the development of detailed drawings for the manufacture of parts.
-Activity requires key interactions with component analysis, manufacturing, project engineering, quality and customer support groups.
-Develop design layouts, GD&T application, tolerance analysis, systems design and integration, fabrication process identification, and synthesis of higher level reqmts to component level reqmts.
-Conduct trade studies and develop schedules, test plans, component specifications and procedures as reqd.
-Applicant must have prior turbomachinery design or development experience.

Wire Harness Packaging Engineer

Description:
Creation of 3-dimensional CAD packaging models of the different vehicle wiring harness commodities such as chassis, engine, dashboard & cab.

Creation of harness formboard layout drawings for all vehicle wiring commodities.

Design of the bracketry required to mount and secure wiring harnesses throughout all the areas of the vehicle.

Support design engineers in the implementation of short term and long term ongoing production issues.

Execute 3-dimensional packaging layouts and their mounting systems throughout all areas of the vehicle. 60%

Support execution of design changes to address ongoing production issues. 20%

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 2 year of related experience (preferred) OR an associate's degree with 2 years of related experience OR 4 years of related experience required



Experience, Skills, Abilities:

Demonstrated 3-dimensional NX working experience (Required)

The individual(s) will be supporting a team of Design Engineers to complete harness packaging studies of all electrical wiring over the entire vehicle platform. They must also exhibit excellent verbal and written communications skills as they can possibly participate in meetings from time to time, as well as interaction with other teams throughout client. This role will consist of being fully involved in the development of new harnesses for medium duty trucks. Will also be involved in and participate in the electronic components.
