Abrams Tank Mechanics

Description:
STS Technical Services is hiring Abrams Tank Mechanics in Killeen, Texas to work for one of our Fortune 500 clients.

In this role, you will work to repair Abrams tanks and troubleshoot all aspects of the engine, communication systems, parts/components. You will also work to provide input to program planning, schedules, and maintenance techniques of the Abrams fleet of vehicles and other traced/wheeled variants. This is a tremendous opportunity to work for a company that holds industry leading standards for defense and also is on the leading edge of an industry boom.

Contract Length: 6+ months

Responsibilities:
Perform preventive maintenance checks and services on variations of the Abrams Tanks (M1A1ED, M1A2SEP V2) as well as familiar with the deprocessing and maintenance tasks on the variations of the Abrams Tanks (M1A1 ED, M1A2 SEP V2) vehicles for the Material Fielding Team (MFT) at Ft. Hood.
Perform troubleshooting specific faults, failures and deficiencies. Provide input to program planning, schedules, and maintenance techniques for the Abrams Fleet Vehicles and other tracked/wheeled vehicles
Read and interpret troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures and flow diagrams for systems, subsystems and components.
Maintain accountability of special tools, test equipment and property.
Required Experience:
1-plus years related experience in truck mechanics with emphasis on the Abrams tank
Must have overall understanding of customer contacts and relationships
Be able to work autonomously with government personnel.
Must be able to gain access to US Military Facilities or bases, including a NACI if required
Must be able to travel away for extended periods.
Efficient knowledge of Microsoft Applications
Required to work at heights, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, able to climb, kneel, stoop, bend and work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions
Ability to meet anthropometric size requirements to enter into a drivers station or enclosed military vehicle
Valid Drivers License is required with the ability to get a tank drivers license if required

What You’ll Do:

Design, operation, maintenance of medium and low voltage electrical power systems supporting launch complexes and related facilities, including circuitry, cabling, electrical components, instrumentation, and controls
Assist technical staff and contractors in the design, operation, and maintenance of new/existing electromechanical systems, including insight into the mechanical operation of these systems
Develop new and revise existing operational test procedures and maintenance documentation associated with launch facility electromechanical systems, primary and backup power (medium and low voltage (12kV, 480V, 120V, 24V control, etc.) systems
Coordination of Base High Voltage supply infrastructure and readiness in support of Launch Operations
Design, operation, maintenance of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), or similar firmware controllers, supporting launch complexes and related facilities
Support development activities for new upcoming launch systems, customer funded special studies, mission unique modifications, or other major facility modifications and/or system upgrades
Disposition of corrective actions and coordination with cross functional groups to identify/implement solutions and drive strategic improvements relative to launch operations
Apply technical engineering knowledge and expertise in the completion of all aspects of an identified project including technological considerations, cost/financial considerations, administration, and schedule management
Develop and coordinate technical portions of proposals, statements of work and contract specifications. Apply knowledge of regulatory and certifying agency requirements to ensure product and/or service complies. Apply knowledge of functional testing requirements to ensure product and/or service meets or exceeds customer expectations
Must understand and comply with (EWR 1271) Range Safety design and operational requirements in performance of duties
Support maintenance and improvement projects in close coordination with Operation Systems Engineering group to ensure system readiness in support of launch vehicle processing
What You’ll Need:

External Basic Requirements:
AT LEAST 2 years of experience working electrical/power engineering in an Aerospace, Utilities, or similarly complex environment. A Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering may be used to satisfy 2 years of experience.
Excellent communication, writing and oral skills and have the ability to work with a wide range of team members including customers and subcontractors
Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, Power Point and Project
Experience with Computer Aided Design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Tekla
Work will primarily be in an office type environment, with some field operations and maintenance support (launch pad and processing facilities) involving certification for working at height, working in confined space, and working in areas of stored hazardous rocket propellant commodities and high pressure gases.
Some travel to other ULA facilities may be required
May need to work on other shifts when needed.
External Preferred Qualifications:
Professional experience working with large, complex mechanical systems in an equivalent industrial process is preferred
Knowledge of industry standards such as National Electrical Code NFPA 70, NFPA 70E

Incumbent provides technical refrigeration skills for daily operations, checkout/startup for electrical and instrumentation equipment within the operating facility while sharing knowledge with and training junior mechanics. This includes site areas of production, utilities, laboratories and facilities. Role is to become familiar with site HVAC infrastructure, maintain records thereof, consistently determine cause(s) of electrical equipment/instrumentation malfunctions, perform repair(s) and correct malfunction(s).

    • Support site infrastructure and capital projects including construction/commissioning of HVAC systems, cold rooms, and growth chambers.
    • Continuously maintain HVAC and refrigeration systems with the objective to improve system reliability, performance, and efficiency.
    • Perform HVAC and refrigeration infrastructure assessments and refrigeration equipment repairs.
    • Provide input and assistance developing and revising maintenance SOPs and JSAs.
    • Troubleshooting and repair of: HVAC, cold rooms, growth chambers, shop instrumentation, dust collection, and Building Automation Systems.
    • Maintain records of repair and maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration equipment to meet OSHA and company standards and guidelines.
    • Actively participates in ESH safety programs along with being able to actively identify and resolve hazards across the site while observing all company work and safety practices
    • Maintenance work performed by the incumbent assures the integrity of our infrastructure, facilities, and manufacturing processes as well as supports the flow of product from TPD-Kihei to the next. The incumbent takes leadership and responsibility for the maintenance of refrigeration and ventilation equipment. The incumbent must collaborate with the staff from several areas to coordinate the completion of all maintenance work required for a given time period. Access to areas and equipment must be scheduled and coordinated to minimize impact on the seasonal production schedule.This position requires detailed contact with team members including but not limited to: Supervision, Production, Engineering, Farm Management, and other Facilities Departments, especially during busy seasons, turnarounds, capital projects and large maintenance tasks.

Job Summary:
The successful candidate will support Production and Engineering on testing various semiconductor components.
Able to read operation instructions and specifications.
Work from assembly schematics and engineer’s drawings.

Job Duties:
Provides routine technical support to production and engineering on standard components, devices, material, products, processes and/or equipment.

Validation Engineer

PDS Tech is seeking candidates for a Validation Engineer position in Miami, FL

How will you make an impact?

Validation Engineer participates as an active member of a dynamic team with high involvement and engagement in powder and liquid cell culture manufacturing operations. Supports the Manufacturing, Quality, and Practical Process Improvement (PPI) programs within the Miami, Florida site.
What will you do?
  • Author and execute protocols in support of new laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and analytical method validation and method transfer.  
  • Complete validation reports and resolution of deviations.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders technical support groups and QA to thoroughly investigate validation discrepancies and drive best practice for system validation.
  • Provide direction to vendors in the qualification of equipment.
  • Effectively liaison with representatives from originating / sending sites, R&D, Quality Control, etc. to ensure design and readiness for laboratory test method validations, verifications, and transfers to support NPI / transfer projects.
  • Provide support in the area of troubleshooting of new / existing equipment and test methods.
  • Support change management system and assess for validation impact.  Execute validation deliverables as defined by the Thermo Fisher Scientific Quality Management System.
  • Assure compliance to appropriate regulatory requirements.  Initiate quality records when not in compliance and inform Quality of noncompliance and proposed corrective activities.
  • Assure validation support structure and document handling systems are maintained.
  • Ability to function efficiently and independently in a fast paced, changing environment.
