Wire and Electrical Equipment Engineer

The individual will be responsible for the integration of electrical components and the design of wiring harnesses and supporting structure into design while meeting vendor and OEM requirements into our product using NX and supporting workflows in Teamcenter, publishing parts lists, peer review of models ensuring customer requirements are met, to support overall engineering design for their program, ensure new designs meet cost, weight, and performance targets, and the troubleshooting of issues related to field data, manufacturing pickups, and engineering errors.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Design of wire harnesses and installation of the wire harness in a monument that would ultimately go into a commercial aircraft while meeting vendor, OEM, FAA, and internal requirements.
• Integrate electrical components using the wire harness design ensuring vendor, FAA, OEM and internal requirements are met.and OEM requirements
• Works on an Integrated Project team ensuring wire harness design and electrical component integration are compatible with surrounding mechanical structure and water systems.
• Directs the work of outsource resources assigned on projects in electrical integration areas.
• Verify system configuration and block diagrams.
• Prepare, modify and release drawings created in CAD (NX) to verify fit, form and function of mechanical and electrical designs.
• Design brackets and fixations for electrical components and wiring as needed.
• Evaluate materials and parts for use in new designs including communicating with current and new suppliers.
• Operate in a team environment with other functional areas providing input to design solutions and participate in design reviews.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in electrical, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from a four-year accredited college/university required and 3-5 years of experience. Equivalent experience or education will be considered.
Experience with the design of wire harnesses and installation of the wire harness in a commercial A/C monument using a 3D modeling package.

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in the design of electrical systems or systems packaging for commercial aircraft interior products is a plus.
Familiarity with FAA requirements and/or knowledge or experience with applicable aircraft specs related to wiring routing.
Experience with mechanical routing of electrical harnesses, hydraulic lines or other mechanical routing.
