Manufacturing Engineer Lvl 4
Salt Lake City or West Jordan, UT

Fabrication Division has a need for an Expert-Level Manufacturing Engineer. This position is responsible for composite assembly of the plane Horizontal Stabilizer and Vertical Fin. In addition, we have a large Statement of Work for metal fabrication and assembly of flight deck consoles for all commercial models. In West Jordan, Utah we produce Door metal fabrication and assembly and composite empennage fabrication.

Primary Responsibilities:
Leads Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in analyzing product development, complex producibility studies and production/tooling philosophies.
Refines, validates, coordinates and implements conceptual designs and manages the program architecture for build.
Develops manufacturing plans and oversees plan optimization.
Conducts complex producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements.
Resolves complex technical problems.
Serves as a project manager to ensure that contract requirements, specifications, design criteria and schedule performance are integrated and maintained.
Leads advanced design solutions and supports research of new product or business opportunities.
Deploys company Lean Enterprise analysis methods.
Documents and communicates producibility best practices.
Provides guidance to others through structured mentoring.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
A Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry AND 9 or more years' of related work experience OR an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (Ex 1: PhD, Masters + 4 years' or more related work experience. Ex. 2: Masters + 7 years' or more related work experience).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation.
Knowledge of working documents such as Engineering/Manufacturing Bill of Materials, Lean Manufacturing, Root Cause Corrective Action.
Candidate should have hands-on attitude and willingness to see challenges thru to completion.
Experience in composite or metals fabrication & assembly processes.

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (Ex 1: PhD, Masters + 4 years' or more related work experience. Ex. 2: Masters + 7 years' or more related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Education Requirement: Bachelor of Science degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

This position is for 1st shift.

Shift: 6:45 AM - 3:30 PM
Schedule may change based on business needs

Successfully completing training OJT is a contingency for this assignment
