Avionics Systems Engineer II (HYBRID)

Description:
Your Mission:
• Seeking a talented and motivated Avionics Systems Engineer to join our Avionics team.
• The primary responsibility will be supporting avionics systems and software development process.
• The ideal candidate will have experience certifying avionics equipment with both DO-178 and DO-254, but a candidate with only software or hardware experience will be considered.
• Develop avionics system and software requirements for design and verification
• Work closely with software and hardware team to develop certification plans and artifacts
• Design, integration, and testing of avionics and aircraft electrical systems
• Work with TSC software and hardware engineers, and subcontractors to define requirements and interfaces for custom avionics
• Plan, execute, and report on vehicle ground and flight testing

Required Skills:
• Must have a B.S. Engineering degree from an accredited university
• 4 or more years of relevant experience in aerospace or similar field
• Experience certifying avionics equipment to DO-178 and/or DO-254
• Experience writing certification plans according DO-178 and/or DO-254
• Experience with digital communication protocols such as RS232, RS422, RS485, Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553, CAN
• Hands-on avionics and/or software experience with aerospace or related systems
• Understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals
• Understanding of software engineering fundamentals
• Experience with embedded systems hardware and software
• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and written communication skills
