The Technicians will act as day-to-day program implementers. In addition to the Road Map implementation, there is a significant amount of daily, one-off events that occur. The Technicians is in place, to support the EHS Manager who will develop the components that drive the Road Map to completion. Additionally, the Technicians in their day-to-day roles will provide the EHS Manager with input that allows for the proactive addressment of future issues
Description: EHS Technician-Contract to Hire
Collaborate with employees to institute control or remedial measures for hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions or equipment. Inspect and/or evaluate workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations. Investigate any workplace injury cause and recommend corrective actions to ensure employee safety. Assist in the development and maintain hygiene programs, such as noise surveys, continuous atmosphere monitoring, ventilation surveys, or asbestos management plans. Assist in the development and facilitate employee health and safety trainings and/or education programs Collect samples of hazardous materials or arrange for sample collection. Maintain inventories of hazardous materials or hazardous wastes, using waste tracking systems to ensure that materials are handled properly. Prepare hazardous, radioactive, or mixed waste samples for transportation or storage by treating, compacting, packaging, and labeling them. Perform other duties as assigned Bachelor's degree in occupational safety & health, environmental sciences, or other relevant field. At least 2 years' experience as an Environmental, Health and Safety professional preferably in aerospace. Knowledge of OSHA, EPA and state specific laws and regulations. Extensive knowledge in environmental hazard assessment, safety disciplines, EHS management systems and root cause analysis
