Description:
Work as a design specialist with a multifunctional team engaged in ensuring the aircraft meets its target weight.

Be responsible to analyze concepts, validate design proposals and provide technical solutions that will lead to weight reduction ideas.

Provide technical recommendation to actively mitigate risks of weight increase.

Work with stress engineers for selection of material selection and sizing of structural elements and systems.

Actively participate in peer reviews and workshops to propose new ideas.

Help build a business case for concept/technical solution validation.

Present the technical solutions to management for approval

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, with a minimum of eight (8) years' experience in a manufacturing environment, a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in design engineering and a minimum of three (3) years in the aircraft industry.

Excellent knowledge of aircraft primary structural components, secondary structure and system installation requirements.

Excellent knowledge and experience of Catia V5 & Enovia (minimum 2,000 hours).

Able to work under minimum supervision to perform a wide range of technical functions.

Good understanding of stress methodology, GD&T, lean manufacturing and aircraft certification requirements.

Ability to interact with different functions such as Methods, Human factor, customer support, and all the different engineering functions and specialist.

Are flexible, you are results-driven, you are able to influence others.

Are able to make presentations and are a good communicator.

Must be fluent in English, must be able to read and write in English.

Experience in a design lead role is an asset.
