Application Support Specialist, JD Edwards
Position Summary:
The Application Support Specialist is responsible for providing support to core business applications, including but not limited to JD Edward Enterprise One (v9.2), Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Procurement systems. The Application Support Specialist serves as a liaison between the business and the development team, manages multiple, projects, deadlines and deliverables while providing business analysis to develop new applications or maintain existing ones. In addition, this positon provides testing, documentation, and configuration of the applications, as well as vendor and customer support. This position requires significant time outside the office and a willingness to travel domestically and internationally, between 25% and 40% annually.
Essential Job Functions: (list in order of importance)
The Application Support Specialist has three key areas of responsibility:
Customer Service:
Gathers requirements from end-users regarding application technology issues and queries
Responds to customer needs with a sense of urgency and provides high attention to detail
Conducts training sessions for new systems or refresher courses on current systems
Communicates with IT leadership on a regular basis regarding project issues, concerns and overall project statuses
Application Support:
Preforms business analysis/resolution for project and tasks
Conducts/attends meeting to present, review, recommend , or approve business solutions
Executes testing scenarios for new or changed applications or programs
Application Report Writing and Maintenance:
Prepares documentation to support projects, not limited to process, functional and technical specifications, issue logs, project summaries and procedures
Creates and maintains reports using Enterprise One tools
Education, Skills, and Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
5 + years of ERP implementation and/or support experience
3 + years of experience implementing JD Edwards Enterprise One v9.0 or higher
Direct interaction with JD Edwards OMW internal change management engine
Proficiency in JD Edwards Enterprise One v9.0 or higher modules of MRP (Material Requirements Planning), Procurement
Proficient with MS Office suite applications
Ability to write functional specification and testing documentation
Strong and effective interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to explain technical concepts and adjust messaging based on the audience, including non-technical groups
Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally between 25% and 40% annually
Ability to work independently as well as within a team
APICS (American Production & Inventory Control Society) Certification in one or more areas is a plus
Oracle Certification in JD Edwards Supply Management (Procurement) is a plus
Oracle Certification in JD Edwards Supply Chain Management is a plus
Experience working in a manufacturing environment with focus on procurement and/or material requirements planning preferred
