Project Engineer / Level 2 - Level 3 (Hypersonics)

Description:
Role will be to coordinate design and development of air breathing hypersonic propulsion systems.

Duties:
-Under general direction, performs project engineering assignments requiring a wide application of advanced principles, theories, and concepts in the field plus a working knowledge of other related disciplines.
-Typical responsibilities include: Provides imaginative, thorough, and practicable solutions to a wide range of technical problems involving the conventional utilization of engineering techniques.
-Conceives and plans projects involving the development of new methods to attain objectives.
-Provides direction in problem investigations and resolution across functional areas.
-Prepares technical requirements and design requirements in support of project goals.
-Keeps current within area of specialty in support of project assignments.
-May perform as the engineering cost account manager.
-May provide technical guidance to less senior project engineers and project support personnel.
-Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
-Erroneous decisions or recommendations or failure to get results may result in serious project delays and considerable expenditure of resources.
-Inter-organizational and resident customer contacts are frequent while outside customer contacts are occasional in providing solutions to technical problems associated with specific assignment.

Skills:
-Interpersonal skills to effectively interface with all levels of personnel; Ability to communicate clearly and concisely; Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings; Organizational skill to effectively plan and coordinate schedules, cost, and workflow.
-May require the use of engineering test equipment, CAD, and various computer systems.
-Understanding of program and technical requirements necessary to achieve complex technical objectives.
-Ability to operate effectively in a team environment.

Education:
-Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate science and five years of related technical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Candidate must have an active/current DoD Secret Personnel Clearance (PCL) to start, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
