Electrical/Avionics Engineer

Description:
Support the Electrical & Avionics Lead Engineer and the overall product development Integrated Product Team (IPT) in the electrical, avionics, and software engineering discipline. This position will entail successful integration of electrical and avionics systems into current and proposed new aircraft designs. The person filling this position will be required to produce electrical drawings such as wiring diagrams, harness assemblies, schematics, and installation drawings either manually or using AutoCAD. In addition, the person will prepare documentation in support of FAA certification activities.

Essential Job Functions:
• Create and revise system specifications, system schematics, wiring diagrams, and component installation drawings.
• Review equipment manufacturer installation manuals for the integration of components into the aircraft design.
• Research component specifications for installation into aircraft with the appropriateness of design and installation and with respect to environmental considerations.
• Work with internal and external customers to provide investigation, analysis, and troubleshooting, and resolution of issues.
• Create and Revise System Description and Requirements Documents).
• Create and Revise Part 23 Certification Documentation (FHA, PSSA, SSA, AV/EL Substantiation reports, Test Plans and Reports, PSCPs, etc…).
• Generate high-quality test plans, reports, and substantiation documents.
• Participate in general IPT project meetings as required during the development of a specific project.
• Support the IPT, as required, in the preparation of material for presentation at design and program reviews.

Required:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows file operations and Microsoft Office and be adept at data entry into existing spreadsheets and/or creating new spreadsheets.
• Familiarity with 3D and 2D CAD and Schematic Design, Mentor Graphics Capital Harness and Siemens NX preferred, Fault Tree Software (Windchill Preferred).

Preferred:
• An understanding and working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 23 and associated guidance material as it pertains to this technical discipline is preferred.
• Ability to be able to move in and out of the office/plant without restrictions during on-airplane troubleshooting activities.
• Familiarity with Garmin G3000 avionic system software and/or aircraft integration is beneficial.

Operations Engineer II

Description:
Position Purpose:
• Work/Lead independently to prepare, conduct, and evaluate analyses for operations process optimization and problem solving for manufacturing issues (production methods and procedures) for a specific production process (including production sequence/flow, tooling and production equipment, layout, material fabrication, assembly methods and planning).

Must Haves:
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or related curriculum required or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• For manufacturing process to which individual is assigned: provide and maintain detailed work instructions, drive quality improvements, efficiency improvements, material presentation enhancements, manage the daily work plan, provide metrics for quality and schedule performance, and coordinate engineering and tooling changes as required. to meet Operations goals.

• Perform technical studies of a complex nature, conduct analysis of operations (existing or proposed). • Generate make-or-buy proposals and recommend corrective actions for areas of responsibility; evaluate vendors, attend vendor negotiations, and assist in resolving vendor problems.
• Conduct research, investigation, and analysis in connection with assigned planning or other assigned projects, to ensure conformance to requirements.
• Investigate and assist in preparing justification for equipment and facility improvements.
• Perform producibility studies from engineering drawings to identify opportunities to enhance manufacturing ability to meet requirements. Participate in Design for Manufacturing assessments with Engineering.
• Apply statistical methods to estimate future Manufacturing requirements and potential; make necessary computer inputs and generate data or reports as needed.
• Keep current on state-of-the-art manufacturing developments.
• Incorporate Lean Manufacturing Methodology into existing and future processes.
• Develop business case and present to management for process improvement approval.
• Provide training to OE I as required. in work methods and procedures and in the efficient and effective use of company resources to resolve work-related or quality problems.
• Independently lead/coordinate the implementation of projects among multiple organizations.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to manufacturing methods as a team member or leader.
• Support all Safety, Sustainability and Ergonomic Initiatives.
• Aid in development and maintenance of Business Continuity Plan.

Other Requirements:
• Proven knowledge and understanding of Lean and/or Six Sigma principles and processes.
• Ability to influence across functional disciplines.
• Demonstrated ability to operate computerized equipment, such as personal computers, CATIA, etc.

Propulsion/Mechanical Systems Engineer

Senior Manufacturing Engineer - IPT

Description:
Position Summary:
• The individual in this position will support the needs of the product development Integrated Product Team (IPT) by providing a critical link between engineering and manufacturing to ensure lifecycle completion from design release to finished part for proof-of-concept development and conforming test articles.
• This position will entail heavy involvement in the design phase to identify and solve problems and influence effective part definition from a Design for Manufacture (DFM) perspective. Beyond drawing release, the person in this position will be required to interface with all downstream functions as needed to support completion of production work orders, definition of fabrication processes, determination of material requirements, definition of detail part and / or assembly tooling, completion of NC programming, definition of fabrication timelines, and execution of fabrication culminating with ensuring the fabricated part is in compliance with the design requirements.
