Liaison Engineer 3

Description:
We are seeking Mid-Level Liaison Engineers to support the Portland, Oregon site. We are looking for a proactive individual who can make prompt engineering decisions and who want to go beyond their desk and into the factory for hands on engineering.

This position requires excellent communication and collaboration skills as the candidate will be partnering closely with production personnel. The candidate will be the engineering representative on the factory floor transforming design into reality.

Position Responsibilities:
• Analyzes, conducts root cause analysis and develops dispositions for production non-conformances.
• Applies knowledge of Company design principles to assess and resolve product/process issues through the product lifecycle.
• Applies engineering principles to research technical, operational and quality issues in support of executing final engineering solutions.
• Identifies documents, analyzes reported problems and communicates deviations that could impact design intent and safety; recommends and manages resolution.
• Develops and implements product/process improvements.
• Supports Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participates in design reviews.
• Represents the engineering community from initial build through the production and post-production environment.
• Ensures supplier and build partner compliance with Company standards.
• Develops customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Participates in on-site disabled product repair teams, accident investigation and support teams.
• Analyzes damage repair or structural modification to determine appropriate jacking and shoring, prevent collateral damage and assure a safe work environment.
• Designs interim structural repairs and conducts static strength analysis.
• Develops non-destructive test procedures, tools and standards.

This position is fully onsite.

Shift: This position is for multiple shifts and may require off shift, weekend, and travel assignments.
The candidate may periodically be assigned to first, second, or third shift as well as weekend or daily overtime.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Description:
As an engineer in the Company Safety and Compliance Investigations (S&CI) team, you will have the opportunity to work independently while leading teams tasked with performing detailed Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations related to regulatory compliance issues. This activity enables program and functional leadership to understand the systemic root causes of compliance issues and implement effective corrective actions that contain the issue and prevent recurrence. This position offers exposure to all aspects of airplane certification across the airplane lifecycle. The importance of this function can’t be over-stated as you will contribute to Company product safety by maintaining and restoring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Investigations typically follow the Company Problem Solving Model (BPSM) process, which provides a structured approach to investigations. Engagement with company leadership, certification experts, and functional experts from across the company make this position highly invigorating. We have a close-knit group with dedicated mentors and RCCA experts available for consultation.

Position Responsibilities:
• For any identified issue related to FAA issued Letters of Investigation, Informal or Formal Compliance Actions, Voluntary Disclosures, Self-Audit findings, and Part 25 Airworthiness Non-Compliances, the BCA S&CI team leads the functional engineering organizations (Systems, Structures, Payloads, Propulsion) through the structured investigation process.
• We coordinate closely with Company functional groups, management and executives, and suppliers to ensure all stakeholders are aligned with the investigation’s status and resolution.
• We work with the functional groups within Company to investigate the regulatory compliance issue by identifying the problem statement, developing a comprehensive root cause investigation that leads to systemic root causes, developing containment actions, actions to prevent recurrence, and actions to verify non-recurrence.

As an investigator in the Company Safety and Compliance Investigations (S&CI) team, you will have the opportunity to work independently while leading teams tasked with performing detailed Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations related to regulatory compliance issues. This activity enables program and functional leadership to understand the systemic root causes of compliance issues and implement effective corrective actions that contain the issue and prevent recurrence. This position offers exposure to all aspects of airplane certification across the airplane lifecycle. The importance of this function can’t be over-stated as you will contribute to Company product safety by maintaining and restoring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Investigations typically follow the Company Problem Solving Model (BPSM) process, which provides a structured approach to investigations. Position Responsibilities:
• For any identified issue related to FAA issued Letters of Investigation, Informal or Formal Compliance Actions, Voluntary Disclosures, Self-Audit findings, and Part 25 Airworthiness Non-Compliances, the BCA S&CI team leads the functional engineering organizations (Systems, Structures, Payloads, Propulsion) through the structured investigation process.

The selected candidate will help design, certify & support commercial airplanes by applying state-of-art reliability and maintainability engineering design, modeling and analysis principles. R&M Engineering is a key functional discipline that supports the airplane development for optimal performance, lifecycle economics & compliance to safety and airworthiness requirements.

- Use modeling, simulation and data analytics methodologies & tools including statistical and probabilistic analyses.
- Serve as a technical specialist supporting other functional design groups during all stages of the airplane product development and support lifecycle.
- Responsible for aiding in determining program technical performance measures (TPMs) such as schedule reliability, airplane operational availability & maintenance cost.

Provide support in the following areas:
- Design for Reliability & Safety (airplane and system design reliability requirements validation & verification, reliability requirements allocation to suppliers, failure modes, rates, effects, propagation and detection analysis, architecture & operational provisions, safety & certification analysis, certification support, reliability & durability testing),
- Design for Maintainability (airplane and system design maintainability requirements validation & verification, task time analysis, maintainability evaluation of design using digital maintainability tools including virtual and augmented reality tools), requirements for and assessment of airplane technical performance measures (TPMs) such as schedule reliability, airplane operational availability & maintenance costs, TPM guarantee analysis.
- Interaction with airplane system suppliers, business partners, airline customers, airplane development program leaders, and functional management is typical, as is a high level of communication between the rest of the R&M Engineering internal organization, program teams, and functional design areas. Team involvement and individual effort, problem solving, and managing multiple actions and assignments will be regular duties for an R&M engineer.
MUST HAVES:
1. Commercial airplane certification in the US.
2. Authoring system safety assessment (SSA) for commercial airplanes.
3. Authoring fault tree analysis (FTA) for commercial airplane systems.
4. Authoring FMEA for commercial airplane systems.
5. Previous commercial airplane maker work experience in safety and reliability analysis.

We are seeking a skilled Embedded Cyber Software Developer to support cybersecurity initiatives focused on secure boot processes, firmware security, and hardware root of trust implementations within embedded systems. Key Responsibilities
