MRB Stress Engineer

Description:
Evaluates, dispositions and performs substantiation analysis for a variety of engineering-related problems discovered during manufacturing and assembly. The successful candidate will provide a technical disposition for nonconforming parts and assemblies, ensuring compliance with type design, regulatory standards, and airworthiness requirements. As a key element in the cross-functional collaboration between MRB liaison, quality, and manufacturing to meet regulatory requirements, the candidate’s role will be pivotal in maintaining the structural and functional integrity of our aircraft while supporting efficient production flow.

Essential Duties and responsibilities:
● Perform stress analysis of nonconformances of composite (and where required, metallic) parts and assemblies identified on the production line.
● Review Quality documentation and MRB Nonconformance Reports to determine the extent of defect and appropriate analysis approach to substantiate an engineering disposition.
● Communicate NCRs clearly to Structures Stress team leads and request additional technical support when needed to ensure a flowing production line.
● Collaborate with MRB liaison, M&P, Manufacturing Engineering and other engineering departments for complex or out for scope deviations requiring technical discussion.
● Demonstrate knowledge of standard repair procedures for typical nonconformance occurrences.
● Compile NCR Stress Reports documenting the non-conformance incident, stress substantiation, assessment results and demonstrate approval for acceptance or repair.

Minimum Qualifications: (your Knowledge, Experience, and Abilities):
● Bachelor’s Degree in either Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering
● 5+ years of related professional Stress experience
● Experience with Stress Analysis Reports or structural substantiation.
● Strong understanding of Aircraft structures, design guidelines, composite and metallic failure modes.
● Excellent communication skills to interface with cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams.
● Self-starter and motivation to see solutions executed to completion

● Dedicated Aerospace MRB experience

Manufacturing Engineer II

Description:
Essential Functions:

1. Perform technical studies of a complex nature, conduct analysis of operations (existing or proposed).
2. Prepare a report of recommendations for equipment needed and correct methods of manufacturing (including sequence of operations and detailed methodology of complex assemblies and installations as well as detail components).
3. Conduct research, investigation, and analysis in connection with assigned planning or other assigned projects, to ensure conformance to requirements.
4. Investigate and assist in preparing justification for equipment and facility requests.
5. Perform productibility studies from engineering drawings to identify opportunities to enhance manufacturing ability to meet requirements.
6. Participate in Design for Manufacturing assessments with Engineering.
7. Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential; make necessary computer inputs and generate data or reports as needed.
8. Perform audit of co-workers output based on defined requirements and procedures. Must demonstrate knowledge of ME policies and procedures.
9. Incorporate Lean Manufacturing Methodology into existing and future processes.
10. With minimal supervision, lead/coordinate the implementation of projects between multiple organizations.
11. Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to manufacturing methods as a team member or leader.
12. Support all Safety, Sustainability and Ergonomic Initiatives. . 13. Aid in development and maintenance of Business Continuity Plan.
13. Author detailed work instructions that optimize manufacturing process efficiency and opportunity for zero defects with functional Operations Engineer. .
14. Author DRDI/DMT rework instructions to support effective corrective actions.
15. Author MBOM in SAP/Solumina/Corridor (as applicable) to ensure all parts defined by Engineering are installed during the assembly/installation process.
16. Assist in make-or-buy proposals and recommend corrective actions for areas of responsibility; evaluate vendors, attend vendor negotiations, and assist in resolving vendor problems.

Additional Functions:

1. Ensure Quality policies are being practiced; make recommendations and implement procedures to improve quality.
2. Initiate and maintain accurate daily/weekly activity status based on work output, as required.
3. Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
1. Proven knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma principles.

Stress Engineer

Description:
Static and fatigue analysis of primary and secondary airframe structure of metallic construction experience.
- Strong background in classical stress analysis.
- Experience with Catia V5 to support stress analysis and drawing release.
- Experience with reviewing 2D drawings.
- Skills in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel - Ability to work independently under limited supervision.
- Experience with aircraft modifications and repairs (STC, MRB, or Service) preferred.
- Static analysis of composite structure, preferably with experience using company's analysis methods
- Composite allowable testing and certification requirements.
- Experience with Patran/Nastran is a plus.

Structures MRB Engineer

Description:
• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum 15 years dedicated Structures MRB Engineering experience at a recognized Aerospace Manufacturer. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Master’s and 4 yrs for PhD.
• Experience should include creation and justification of engineering dispositions for nonconformances of composite and metallic, pressurized and non-pressurized aircraft structures.
• Experience should include all components of the aircraft (Wing, Fuselage, Empennage).
• Experience should be in a Production and/or schedule-driven environment.
• Capability to analyze and rapidly design repairs based on equivalent strength/stiffness of surrounding structure while in a schedule driven environment.
• Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be computer literate (such as, but not limited to: Catia V5, Solumina, SmarTeam, Corridor, Word, Excel).
• Shift will be discussed during interview. Periodic weekend OT required.
