Technical Writer - FrameMaker

Description:
Technical Writer will be an essential part of the team providing daily support to and collaborating with Engineering, Production and Quality departments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Develop and manage aviation technical publications such as, but not limited to, AMM,
Supplemental Manual, Service Bulletins, Task Cards etc.
 Interpret engineering drawings, bill of materials, parts list, and technical instructions to develop
user-friendly technical publications.
 Ensure that technical publications adhere to industry standards and regulatory entities.
 Edit technical publications and all written materials for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
 Communicate and collaborate with engineers and other technical subject matter experts to
gather necessary information for technical publication development.
 Work independently and as a part of a team to support the complete workflow process to ensure
successful development and revision of technical documents.
 Manage document version control and maintain documentation repositories or libraries.
 Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to aviation technical
writing.
 Supports Production needs as required when authoring Task Cards and management thereof.
 Represents the department during meetings.
 Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 Technical writing: Minimum of two years technical writing, preferably in the aviation industry.
 Proficiency with structured Adobe FrameMaker is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 Undergraduate or graduate degree in Professional Writing, Technical Writing, English, Engineering,
or equivalent.
 Highly experienced in the aviation/aerospace field with a background in working closely with
Engineering groups.
 Experience with AMM, CMM, SB and other field related documents.

SUCCESS FACTORS/JOB COMPETENCIES:
 Excellent understanding of Company operations and needs.
 Mechanical aptitude with experience and knowledge of aircraft systems and operation.
 Working knowledge of aviation regulations and standards (e.g., FAA regulations, ATA specifications).
