Description:
*This is a 1 year, full time, contract opportunity located in Minneapolis*
We are hiring for a thermal/fluids engineer who will be working on our DoD aerospace projects by analyzing requirements, working trades studies and creating prototype/detailed design and testing.
Daily duties will include test planning, instrumentation, data acquisition, and data analysis to validate models and conclusions.
Required:
*5 years in thermodynamics and fluids analysis, trade studies, test methods, sensitivity analysis.
*Skilled in developing working fluids and thermal models from first principles and thermal models for complex geometries, boundary conditions, and initial conditions
*Ability to relate model results to allowable limits
*Interim Secret Clearance must be applied for and received before start; US CITIZENS Only
*BSME or equivalent, aerospace related engineering degree
Pluses:
*Good tool experience with Ansys, or STAR-CCM+, use of design tools such as Creo
*Active Secret Clearance preferred
*Analysis of weapon systems and aerodynamics
*Familiar with multi-physics modeling
*Experience with HVAC systems
*Fluid mechanics or heat transfer knowledge
Note: There are 2 positions, one as per above, the other is a Lead position, with same skills as above with the following additions:
*10 years total experience, with at least 5 being in a lead role
*Ability to develop and analyse physical models for computational fluid dynamics with skills in programming in C++, Python, and Matlab
*Experienced with project management tools such as MS Project
