Systems Engineer - Rotary Wing Platform

Description:
This position is for a Senior Systems Engineer in the Rotary Wing Platform Systems Department responsible for development of aircraft system requirements, design, and test for the Special Operations Aviation (SOA) MH-60M/L Blackhawk, MH-47G Chinook and A/MH-6 Mission Enhanced Little Bird platforms. The Platform Systems Engineering team is the primary interface with the customer and is responsible for allocating requirements to the various subsystems (Displays, Flight Management Systems, Communications (COM), etc.) for development, then assembling the software components and testing the overall system. The selected applicant will work in a technologically advanced and challenging field supporting the development of new features and functionality across multiple rotary wing aircraft platforms.

The selected candidate will perform platform systems engineering tasks under supervision of more senior engineers developing Avionics Management Systems (AMS) on various rotor wing platforms.

Responsibilities include:
•Capturing and analyzing customer requirements and breaking them down into clear avionics system and subsystem requirements.
•Performing avionics system design requiring coordination across multiple subsystem functional areas.
•Supporting requirements-based testing in an avionics lab environment.
•Collaborating with engineers across multiple subsystems (Displays, Flight Management Systems (FMS), Communications, etc.) and contribute toward a positive team working environment.

The selected candidate must:
-have a bachelor's degree in an applicable STEM field
-be familiar with DOORs
-be a self-starter
-be able to multi-task, manage unplanned events, and take advantage of opportunities and events to achieve results that exceed expectations
-be well organized and able to communicate effectively with engineering peers, leadership and customers
-have Excellent problem solving, decision making, and teamwork skills
